Multiplayer direct ip problem!!! help....

Hi I'm new to this forum and have a problem with direct ip multiplayer.

I just can't seem to play direct ip with my friend we cant go to each others host game and its realy stressing us out.

Now I don't know for sure but is it maybe because we have a NAT problem. Or is it because we use a mini image for we like to play without cd's. Or doesn't it make a diffrence. Also can it be because we use a ip adres with the code 192.168.*.**:confused: .

It would be great if I could fight against my friend so if someone knows what to do please share.

Ps: How do I recognize my own IP adress? I got mine from msdos IPCONFIG but don't know for sure if thats the one. How do you guys find you IP adress?

And could it be a bug or something thats stopping me from playing?

First off patch 1.5 lets you play without CDs anyway.

Next, you need to have all the ports open mentioned in the readme.

As to your IP - if your computer is connected to a router then the dos ipconfig will give you your local IP, not your global one. There are various websites (such as http://www.whatsmyip.org/) which will tell you your global IP.
