Blood Ravens Colour Scheme

Why did they change the original colour scheme of the Blood Ravens?

The red eye lenses dont look anywhere near as good as the green ones, or the black/silver chest emblem.

Anyone else think so?

Blood Ravens still have Green eyes and their original colours.

Not in Winter Assault, or in Dark Crusade (or so it appears).

There are no Blood Ravens in Winter Assault. And we haven't seen DC screenshots that have Blood Ravens yet.

Perhaps you need the mod that makes all Imperial Eagles gold and all eyes green in Skirmish.

The skin with the Gold Eagle and green eyes is the campaign (original DoW) skin. You cannot select it from the drop down menu (skirmish), but if you play random and manage to get Space Marines, you'll get the campaign skin (and thus Golden Eagle chest and green eyes).

Eyes cannot be teamcoloured, but the chest Eagle can: I can recommend 255-180-50 as a gold-like colour :p

It's a bit of a shame, but they modified the unit painter in WA for the Space Marines, instead of a color that just changes the eyes, they added trim 2 I believe. Which changes some other color on the body.

When playing you really don't notice the eye thing that much, but here's to hoping they put it back in DC.

Red eyes is the sideeffect of patch changes. Trim 2 used to be 'Eyes'. I belive it was part of speeding up load times by improving the team colour appliance system.

As for chest eagles, you can never get them different from the trim. Ive tried it many times - hell look at the base colourscheme for them. Its black i believe.

The way Grabnutz describes gets you the standard skirmish Blood Ravens (so with red eyes and black chest Eagle), while the random race I described gets you the DoW campaign skins (Golden Eagle and green eyes).

If you choose random, and so does you opponent, and you both end up as Space Marines, you get the same scheme, yes. What random does is use the campaign skins from DoW (and WA Impy G.). If you play random and get Chaos, you'll notice there's a lot more blood on their buildings, which is very nice.

That's the mod I was referring to. Thanks for posting it Hangar-8. Lovely Golden Aquillas and glowey green eyes :). In my opinion it is a 'Must-Have' mod.

i don't know if anybody else noticed but in skirmish when a blood raven dies his eyes go back to green.

I am a Blood Ravens Super Fan and that skin mod is gona really help me , since I always use blood ravens as my colour scheme in game.

hum.... ive never noticed that...... i guess its one of those little things that no one cares about but it is kind of cool to know cause its such a small glitch :D
