I had a problem installing the demo:
On an AMD64 2GHz, 512Mb DDRAM, the DCDemoSetup.exe used from 0 to 2% cpu time. And ate up 250MB of RAM. Then it opened a msiexec.exe process, that ocuupied from 0-2% cpu and up to 150MB RAM.
It took 40 minutes to get to the EULA screen, another good 10-15 minutes to pass from "initializing" to "copying files", and god knows how much to make the full install(I left it working and went to cinema).
I had no antivirus running, and nothing else working on the computer, just the demo installer.
The game runs 100% perfect (just had to update DirectX to 9.0c)
I tried the same installer on a Intel P4 2Ghz, 1GB DDR RAM, and ram costs were 7-10 megs, the whole installation came up in 5 or 10 minutes (normal).
Both PC's had Win XP SP1.
Is RAM THAT important to installation performance?
Something tells me this isn't supposed to happen, and I can't imagine how much time could it get to install the whole DC DVD if this happens too...
Cheers!
