Strange Mission Editor Issue

Each time I try to place a Strategic Point, Relic, Crit. Location, Slag Depot., etc, it is placed past some point somewhere in the middle of the map. They cannot be placed within a good 1/3 of the map. Maybe it is the map type, maybe I just suck at modding, maybe somthing else.
Does anyone know?
