Hi all,

Anyone knows what’s the problem with LAG on LAN with DOW?? :argh:

I play On-Line without any problems, but when I connect my 2 PCs for LAN gaming the LAG starts! :cry:
Both have no problems ON-Line and in Skirmish. Tried to decrease the graphics and even removed the router and connected them directly.. but for no use!

Any help is highly appreciated!!

My friend and I have been having the same exact problem.

I own DoW+WA,and he has the gold version. Both are the same game versions.

I use a normal LAN cable.

When the game loads,its usually me who gets stuck with the lag-click problem. Sometimes him,but usually me. The problem is, I tell a unit to move/attack/build/repair,and he does it after around2-4 seconds AFTER I give the order.

Its a real pain in the butt. I've tried everything; updating our drivers,decreasing graphics,running the safe mode,changing firewall settings,nothing works!

It's funny that Lan games lag more then on-line international games! :-/

Xiagal, you(and your friend) should update your game(s) to v1.51. You'll need to apply 1.41, then 1.5, followed by 1.51.

Does it make any difference if (both PC's) you run vanilla WA for your LAN games, instead of the DoW AI mod?

Nope.. no difference for me!
I only started using the AI Mod recently.

At one time I tought maybe my router was crap and was creating the LAG, but even when I connected them directly LAG was the same :-(

Funnily enough… when we play On-Line against others, with both PCs connected to the same router and internet connection, the LAG is almost vanished!

What sort of graphics cards do both PC's have. I had this problem with a friend and it turned out to be graphics related.

And before you say pah, stupid - his DoW ran perfectly fine online and single player too, but in lan, we were chopping all over the place, with delays, lag, and even some monster pauses.

He turned down his graphic settings to med low, and voila, game was smooth for everyone. Its annoying for him that he has to turn his settings down for lan and then back up for 8 player online, but it seems to work, for whatever particular reason...

Strange but true.

Well I got a 6800GS, while my friend an x700.. None of us have problems on-line/Skirmish..
And we already tried to lower the graphic settings (both of us)

This problem has been around forever, and nobody seems to know how to deal with it. I've had it since i first got vanilla DoW, and have it to this day. Exact same problem. The delay seems to be a bit less since 1.5, but it is still there. There have been posts about this before, and no one has solved it. At least you aren't going insane.

MY friend and I have tried lowering our graphical settings as well. Alas,it did not work.

And Tain,you are correct. Patch 1.5 does reduce the delay a tiny bit,but yes,it is still there.And it bothers the hell out of me.

If it's been around forever,why hasn't Relic done anything? :(

Its a bit late, but I got the same problem and I use 1.51 modless, I don't have problems with other games and in online games I usally don't experience problems ,besides the ocational laggy game due to the other guy useing some kind of p2p (this guys are easy to spot as the game seems ok at time and then have brief moments of laggyness).
