CD Authentication (Please help)

Now I have searched and read up about this problem. What I want to do is play online. I bought the game, put in my CD key (I /have/ checked it in the registry) and it dtill does not work. I opened up all the required ports and it still does not work. I don't really want to reinstall the game as that takes a good hour and a half to patch the game up etc.

What to do?

Just quickly. Will it let me use my key if I have a CD emulation tool running for a different game? (Don't start thinking it's an illegal copy of DOW ... I played the game, thought it was great, bought it and i'm not playing it. The CD emulation was for my sisters copy of the Sims 2 to work without us having to have 2 copies)

I have already checked the registry key etc multiple times. It is the game of the year edition but my key is 16 characters long. I'm thinking I should attempt to get it returned today.

Before you do, are you sure that you are not confusing o's with zeros (or vice-versa)?

I triple checked it. Went back, got another copy and key etc. Uninstalled and reinstalled after editing the registry and it not working ... it still does not work. What to do? I think i'll email THQ.

I have exactly the same problem... I have the G.O.T.Y. edition and have triple checked the Cd Key... It's 16 digits I made sure it's the right case no 0s or Os...

Does anyone have the soloution?

Yes, did you read my post? I said it had only 16 characters and the key length was fine.

For all we know the might now be issuing 16 digit cd keys that are still wrong, but I can't say for sure. The other possibility would be that someone pirated your cd keys, but since you have tried with two different ones already, I'd say that isn't the case (unless you have really bad luck).

I don't know. I think the 16 digit ones are still wrong. I emailed them but I doubt i'll be able to get my key :( What will I do?

Besides that, I don't think there is much you can do and I think people that had similar problems before were able to contact THQ and get a replacement for their keys. If even that doesn't work, then perhaps something is wrong with your computer, but I have never heard of something like this before so I can't really say what it could be.

Distortional, there seem to be a bunch of CD key misprints lately (see the 16/20 digit thing), so my suggestion would be that you contact THQ technical support and ask them for a replacement key.
There's only so much we can do here, since this is a fan-run forum we can't hand out new CD keys or anything.
