BLADE RUNNER - though I've not yet played the game, I've heard some very nice reviews coming from people who have, and I love the movie, so a remade BR game with all the latest graphics thingies (especially now, we might even get all the grittiness that was captured (and enthralled me) in the movie by Ridley Scott) would be awesome (for me, at least).

Blade runner game wasn't gritty (had humor moments!), didn't play as decker, and ran at 640x480, IIRC.
They should remake System Shock I, Wing Commander II, and Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri.

All of the Trek Games. They really are quite weak in all areas.

Tie Fighter and X-wing, with multiplayer bundled.
The missions were excellent, and hard as hell.
Updating the game mechanics, damage modelling effects, AI, and physics, and providing appropriately modern cutscenes = me plunking down my almighty dollar and scurrying home to install it as fast as my stumpy little legs could carry me.
And, given the franchise, it's a space combat game that would SELL.
I still fondly recall trying to take out a laser minefield in an unshielded Interceptor, while several defecting Tie-Advanceds, that were supposed to be my wingmen, badmouthed me in the distance and waited to finish me after I shot the last mine...

Retro, there's a new-ish update, a couple of years old, that updates the engine to TFvsXW standard. It's fully playable on modern computers and can be bought for about 10-15 €/$. I am the happy owner of a copy and it's called X-Wing Collector's Series. It has X-wing + all addons plus Tie Fighter + all addons. Very nice, but easier than I remembered. Must be all that experience :)

-- Retro Yup. That mission was cool. At the time I played it I was a kid who hardly understood English, so I didnt have an idea of what was happening until I was blasted out of the sky by my own wingmen. Reloaded, and killed them immediately. gg

A Alpha Centurai. With some new graphics and a smother interface that game would rock.

Omigosh, the original Metal Gear Solid with the MGS2 engine. That would be so sexy.

Starcraft
Diablo
Diablo II
Warcraft III
Dune 2 (I know about Dune 2000, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good)
Emperor: Battle for Dune (very solid game, I just feel it could use some balance improvements and other touch ups)
Metal Gear Solid with the new MGS2 engine.
Wasn't Final Fantasy 7 through 9 going to be remade with newer 3D engines or something? Whatever happened to that?

?
elite, that noone has mentioned? and the followup, frontier?
the original freeform space sim and still technically the best, although frankly trying to play it now on an emulator feels just like it probably should - "look at the shit graphics". hence remaking it.
svk - there is an mdk2 you know.

FWIW, I WAS referring to the xwave vs. tie fighter collector's CD. The models are still relatively low-res, even if they do now have more realistic looking decals, and the explosions are rather horrid. But it's still a great game.

Dark Reign. If any of you have played the original Dark Reign, you'd find that it was a very good strategy game that was overshadowed by other games. Dark Reign 2 was all graphics, but I feel that the original was better. If the original had Dark Reign 2's graphics, it would have been better than Dark Reign 2. So therefore, I'd like to see the Dark Reign 3.
And also Freespace 2. That was one of the best flight simulator games I know. The graphics were MaD AsS and the story was cool. The problem is that it has been announced that there will be no more Freespace games. I hope they reconsider one day and actually make Freespace 3 or something.

There's no need to remake Freespace 2. It already has nice graphics and runs on modern computers.
Argh! Why oh why doesn't UW 2 work on my computer any more!
