WA no CD to start?

Recently I have been running the game without a CD. Is that normal? I remember I had to insert a CD to play before and it always say that disc authentication has failed once every two attemps to start the game.

Since one of the last patches (1.5x) you don't need to have the CD inserted anymore. It's normal.

Well how typical that I have to lose my CD just before the 1.5 patch...

Any suggestions for me outside of buying a new copy or finding it? And no, telling me to take better care of my CD's is not an option, I have hundreds of the damn things lying about and it could be anywhere.

Well if the game is still installed you're fine, just patch it.
