I'm confused by how the DOW online account system works, for one, when you create an account does it bind your serial to that account eg some steals your account does that mean they have you serial as well? or does it check the serial on the computer every time you go to play online, which means as long the computer your on has a valid serial anyone with an account can log in and thus in theory you can create mutiple accounts and still not lose your serial with the account if the account gets stolen?
Also does that mean more than one person can play online with the same serial at the same time?

No, your serial is not linked to your account, and you can have multiple accounts. Only one person can play online with the same serial at the same time. If your account gets stolen, all you lose is your account, not your serial.
