Dark Crusade dvd won't read

I have a rather strange problem. Although I have no trouble playing dvd movies on my computer, the Dark Crusade disc just sits in the drive spinning until it times out. Trying to open the contents of the disc instead of letting it autoload just crashes windows.

On the other hand, my ancient powerbook has no problem reading the disc. I've installed new firmware for the dvd drive to no avail. It's an LG GCC-4320B if that's any help.

Any suggestions?

Just a PC I built last year (Athlon 64, K8V motherboard, ATI Radeon 9600se).

Regardless, nevermind. I just mounted my housemate's dvd drive over the network and used it. I still think it's a bit strange that my drive only seems to have problems with the DC disk though. =\

i am havinga similar problem with it hanging on disc4, credits.avi

then it kicks it out and says 'verify this exists'

Disc 4? Dark Crusade is a PC-DVD.
