problem with installing Dark Crusade

I get to almost the whole way...until it starts installing "data2.cab"

it then says there's an error that "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"

WTF!?

I've tried re-installing it 3 times!

I can't post images for some reason...but you have to trust me that it's a real retail copy

Try to copy the disk to your harddrive and install from there - if you get an error during copy then the disk is probably dirty or scratched.

after trying to copy it to my hard drive, I got the exact same message...

...then I checked my CD...and there is a major scratch. I dunno how though...

thanks for your help...I'm gonna return it and get a new one
