Well, I admit some frustration here. I've been a fan of the DoW games since the initial release, and haven't run into a problem until now.
I hadn't played the game for a while, have since uninstalled all instances of the games, and recently got my hands on Dark Crusade. After completing the install, I loaded up, and got to the menu, and much to my dismay all of the text was garbled.
Since, I have crawled through Google searches, and the forums here. The results from my searches state pretty much to alt-tab out of the game and that would fix it. Alas, the moment I move the cursor over a button the text once again becomes garbled.
I have completely up to date drivers both for my chipset and for my video card.
My Specs-
AMD64 3500+
2gb PC3200 memory
DFI Lanparty mobo
x850CE 256mb RAM
2 80gb SATA HD's
160gb IDE HD
I currently have it installed on one of the SATA HD's. I do not have, nor have ever had a problem like this with any of my games. Though I'm already familiar with the interface, I find it to be very frustrating to be unable to read anything. And I mean anything. All text is garbled.
I have the game set to run at 1280x1024 with everything maxed. Just to make sure, I loaded up a skirmish match just to see my framerate, and even with a screen full of units it holds out at a decent rate.
I don't know what to do, and any help that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
