Game Will Not Install

I cannot install DOW - keep getting catastrophic error. contacted THQ already. Tried to copy DVD to hard drive and install from there. Getting setup error and it wants to send to microsoft. Any suggestions?
I get past the serial # and it all starts at music.agi - tells me there is a problem with the software.

You probably have a defective disk. Try exchanging it at the place where you got it.

Close any other programs you may be running, perhaps unknown to you in the background before running install. Disable anti-virus and other resident programs (perhaps anti-spyware) before running setup. In some case you may need to manually terminate programs using the task manager, and possibly stop services.
