you can use territory marks to lay out your boundrys before you paint in your territories. It helps you know where to paint. If I knew how to post a screen shot on here i'd show you what it looks like after you do it. :) comes out pretty good.

Yeah that's what I was thinking would help alot in guiding the painting. Then when you've done all of your strategic points, you will (may.. I'm not sure if they show up in-game) have to delete all of the markers but at least you'll have territory as you want it.

They do not show up in game. I've tried it looks good.
