You can NEVER put a . in the map name, like in for instance St.Malo. This will cause your gamefile to become corrupt and it will no longer be loaded.
(If you have files corrupted by this ., you can still save them by changing all the file names to something else.)

Yea.. I almost died when my map wouldn't boot up in the worldbuilder and everything else did.. turns out St. Marcouf was bad... Just by a lucky guess I changed it to St Marcouf and it worked! *joy*

Sorry to piss on your fire, but my map was named "2p_salerno" and it's corrupted in exactly the same way as maps with a . in their file name. Also, i tried renaming all the files "salerno", but no change. Either the problem is more complicated that it would seem, or there's two different problems with exactly the same error messages, OR i'm missing something which should be obvious. This map was almost finished, so I'm fairly desparate.

heres a problem I encountered very early on. I made a map and hit the save button by mistake. The worldbuilder named it new scenario. No big deal. When I tried to rename it it didnt name all the files. I did a save as and renamed it that way and it became corrupt, imo the first time you save your map name it. You will have less problems it seems. I downloaded someones map and put it into the mp folder and the map name was new scenario lol.

Useful tip, but is more useful in the Maps Bunker FAQ than the HOWTO forum. I'm moving this to the maps bunker, and suggest you get it added to the FAQ.
