it would be really cool if hw2 had a starcraft mod, like the terrans versus the protoss (animations for zerg would be too much of a pain). It would just be soo cool to see a fleet of battlecruisers and wraiths fighting it out against protoss carriers and corsairs,
Of course a ton of units would need to be made up... but it would still be cool

hmm there would be 6 toss and 5 terra untis so far:

arbiter
carrier

scout
shuttle
observer

cruiser

yah thats true, the arbiter could be used to create warp gates for the rest of the protoss ships, and that would be their meens of hyperspace travel, and the whole cloaking thing too. the shuttles could somehow be used like the marine frigates, to take over enemy ships

but there r still less units for the terrans. wraith, valkyr and wraith. withought "ground" suport the terran fleet wouldn't last very long imo, unless they are in greater numbers, and if the research vessel can do some "special" things ;)

Using the styles of the terran and protoss ships in starcraft, one could generate some ships that aren't in the game. You could make enough ships for each race to fill each spot for every ship in hw2. there is also another protoss ship, I forget it's name but it only appears when you start a mission and it gives you that nifty cg screen of a ship or base.

So all one has to do is first model all the original sc/bw ships, then use those ships as a template for new ones, befitting the style of the race.

I was also trying to figure out a storyline for it... without it involving the zerg it's kind of tricky. It's a little far fetched but what if a dark protoss faction on some planet was seperated from the other factions of the protoss by zerg attacks on a nearby planet, the zerg didn't notice the protoss, but moved along destroying all the protoss planets, effectively cutting the protoss off. The protoss decide to leave the planet before the spreading zerg consumed them. Eventually during theyre fleeing they come upon a fleet of ships, a UED fleet in Sol territory, they meet each other right after that UED rescue fleet was sent to the downed vessels of the original starcraft. Perhaps due to some miscommunication or just the UED disliking other races, they attacked the protoss and thats how the fight started.... you could be the protoss trying to fight your way back out of UED space, or the UED trying to kill the protoss.

Like I said... far fetched.... very far fetched..
And I do know due to some SC lore that this couldn't really happen, the distance between earth and the planets where sc took place is a very very long ways.... but I guess it doesn't say that the protoss never spread that far...
Maybe they can find some Xel Naga technology the UED are trying to hold onto to get home

You could make enough ships for each race to fill each spot for every ship in hw2.

Why try to replace the Hiigaran/Vaygr with Starcaft ships. Make new races, Protoss and Terran (heck, Zerg can travel in space too) and build only as many ships as are necessary.

I'd been thinking about a starcraft mod, too, for a while. i dont have the skills to even start something like that, but i do have some ideas:

Terran:
-Wraith: Interceptor-class fighter with lasers for anti-fighter and vet and missiles for anti-frigate and cap ships.
-Valkyrie: Bomber-class fighter. Shoots lots of missles.
-Spectre: Cloaked scout/strike fighter. No weapons
-Laser Corvette: Anti-Frigate corvette. Fires laser beams (narrow, weaker ion beams)
-Dropship: unarmed marine Frigate.
-Missile Barge: Heavy version ov Valkyrie, with better missiles and 2 mass drivers.
-Assault Cruiser: Destroyer-class ship. 3 laser cannons, flack missile battery
-Emperor Cruiser: Heavy Destroyer. Has 4 long-range heavy missile batteries (1 launch each), 1 Ion Missile Battery, and lots of lancers.
-Battlecruiser: Carrier with weapons. Yamato Cannon = ion, has lots of lancers.
-Research Vessel: Works as a research module.
-Space Platform: Mothership
-Ion Missile: Kamakaze unit launched for free by Emperor. Also fires two weak ion cannons.

Protoss:
-Interceptor: Interceptor armoed with 2 trinity cannons
-Corsair: Heavy Interceptor with plasma cannons.
-Scarab: Kamakaze unit. Only built in Reaver
-Scout: Bomber. Fires plasma missiles.
-Shuttle: Marine frigate, unarmed.
-Arbiter: Hyperspace ship, with photon cannon (Maybe an enlarged pasma bomb or something)
-Reaver: Flying version of the real unit. Builds scarabs and has some pulsar cannons.
-Observer: Cloaked scouting vessel. Fires a weak ion cannon.
-Carrier: Just like in-game Carrier. Fires pulsar cannons and a massive ion cannon.

That is a good first list. I think you should get what you got in game and see way they do before adding more.
