I'm having a problem where I can't join any game that my friend ( J40K ) has joined or is hosting. Visa Versa he cannot join any game I am connected to.
It's not a firewall/settings problem as we've been playing DoW together since the beta tests and we've only had this problem since last night.
This is annoying as we often play most of our games together.
Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks in advance.

Just tested some things out with one of our friends and the second one of us leaves the other gets straight in.
Mmm we're really stumped.

NAT bug do the network test do you get NAT detected if two players are behind a nat they cant join the same game
we need to start a thread lobbying relic to take it to gamespy and kick them in head till they fix the nat bug it ruins a good game
whos with me?

I've had & am still experiencing the same problem, as are quite a few others. This has only been with DC for me WA & DoW were both fine.
I am fairly certain it's not NAT related in this case, where it's person specific. Most people will pass the netwok test with flying colours.
Of the people I spoken with the common thing that came up was internet connection sharing.
I'd be interested to know if either you or your friend have started using this this recently?
Unfortunately if it is the cause I have no idea why it is.
I'm waiting on a couple of bits & pieces to arrive so I can redo my home network & remove ISC from my machine. I'm hoping that it makes a difference.
I think that this problem may actually be more wide spread than is thought, but is only becoming apparent to those friends (from outside the game) that like to play together, who are a minority of players online.
As this problem is increasing it'd be nice to have a sticky or something where we could all compare notes.
We've been playing together for around 2 years, I've always had internet connection sharing, don't know about him. But nothing has changed recently.
It was just the other day we played about 3 games, then went to make a 4th...and suddenly we couldn't connect.

While this could be a NAT bug, I am inclinded to agree with Simonicus. I think the problem with difuse and widespread. And whatever it is seems to be some new problem with the way the verification is handled...
There are somepeople who I have played games with online, that I can never join their games and they can't join mine, but we can both join other peoples.
In addition to problems with connecting to the lobby and not being able to ping/connect 50% of games. :ballchain
The worst part is for all this tempermental-ness, the ingame is rock solid. Clearly showing that there a problem with the lobby and not the game itself...:ghost:
Yes, let's petion Relic and get them to bug Gamespy...
This game would be perfect if only everyone could actually connect and play...:jig:
(last night I had to play some guy hosting a 1vs1 QS tau vs... TWICE just because it was the onyl game I could connect to. Man that was stupid.:bleh:)

My experience to date is that there are certain players out there who, if they host a game, I cannot join. If I host a game they cannot join. If someone else is hosting & I've joined the game, the other player cannot & if they've joined the game before me I cannot join.
There have been two things in common with people this seems to happen with.
1 - they are using internet connection sharing.
2 - they all seem to be in Australia!
I'd certainly be interested to hear if you are experiencing this & you don't use ICS & don't live in Australia!!
So far no one has come up with any serious theories as to what could be causing this.
I thought at one point that perhaps the interal IP address of the share (usually 192.168.0.1) was somehow being read externally & the lobby was seeing two identical IP's, but I do not seriously see how this could be possible.
I've chatted with both our systems engineer & Network guru at work & neither of them could give much of an idea beyond "thats very strange mate?"
Very helpful!!
