View Full Version : Can not play with specific player/s

This problem only just started two weeks ago. Before then I had played hundreds of games with this person without any hassles. Now however, whenever we try to play together he is kicked out of the game during load. It only happens between the two of us and only happens when we try to play together. We are able to observe games together but actually playing them results in him being kicked 100% of the time. Like I said before this never used to happen and neither of us have made any changes to our computer hardware/software/ISP.
Can we get warnings.log files from both of you from after a disconnect?

This appears to be happening more & more. Originally there were people who were being blocked from each other from the get go & now it seems to be happening to people who have been fine previously.
There is a growing amount of people who like to play with friend who are finding that when a certian person hosts a game they can't join.
If they host a game that other person can't join.
If they are in a game hosted by someone else the other person can't join & if the other person is already in game then they can not join.
It is not the NAT bug & most of them all pass the network test just fine.
The only common link between most of us is the use of internet connection sharing.
It makes playing with mates from the real world a nightmare.
It also didn't seem to happen pre Dark Crusade.
This is also happening on Company of Heroes.
I was fine playing DOW before I got Dark Crusade but now I am finding it very difficult to connect to rooms and players.
Just a thought but could they have used some of the same software and techniques they have in COH?

Does COH use GameSpy? I find it easy to blame GameSpy. I don't know why, maybe it is because they seem incapable of doing anything right...
To Moe: I am still trying to get that bug report for you but I have not seen my m8 online for a while. I will do it as soon as he decides to log on at a time of my convenience ;)

CoH uses Relic online, not Gamespy.

Has anyone had any success solving this problem. For me, it is only happening in DC. If I play with the same players in WA, we can all join the game without problems.

I wish I could say yes, however I have not seen my mate that I can't play with for two weeks so I have not been able to do anything else about it. Instead I am only finding more and more instances of it happenening between other people.
I really hope that they fix this bug(unlike most of the others) because it is quite serious. You can't seem to play 5 games without having at least one game where one person drops in a manner simular to this bug :/

droppers are just about as much as a problem sometimes as being paired with a newbie and trying to hold your own and protect your team mates as well..sometimes, i've been trying to protect 2 other team mates..it's reall bad sometimes [/offtopic]

I know what you're talking about. I don't mind being paired with noobs though. I like the extra challange it provides and I like watching my allies back. No matter how new they are. I really don't care if I win or not.
What we are talking about it not really droppers. It is people being dropped by something unexplained. Random people we are unable to play against/with through no choice of our own.

We tested it by trying to play a 1v1. He hosted. When we tryed to start the game it came up with the 'transferring badges' bit and nothing else happened. It sayed like that for 10 min.
