And yes i know that code-mods won't be suported. But i still have a Question about what sort of code, from within the game, we can use and manipulate.

First of all, the Field frigate's "field" from HW1, will such a system (code) be includded in HW"?

Second, linking; is it suported? or is there a way to simulate linking via scripting? "i.e. when ship A & ship B are distanced by 1 metres, delete two ships and replace with ship C" and vice versa?

Third, btw, can we call in ships with the LUA system? meaning can we write a script, in which ships are called into the game? "teleporting ships into the game?" in real time, that hasn't been scripted in the map? dynamic ship teleportationing into the game?


i could wait several months (3-4 months), but a very simple, but powerfull, idea i had involving shields and armour went down the drain when i heard that HW2 won't include code mods. So i'd like to know now if i have to scrap other ideas or not, and start to re-think them. i have figured a way around coding for the shield/armor system...thankfully.

Nevertheless, i'd really like to know at present what sorts of code is allowed in HW2, so that we can implement the ideas with greatest effectiveness.

Since the DFF is in the game already, point 1 shouldn't be a problem :)

I suspect point 3 would be more on a map scale rather than an individual ship scale. In other words, a modification of the reinforcements system in HW2.

yes there is a DFF, but what it's purpose is we don't know. a detector? scans nebulae also...or sometihng like that...but we figured how to do shields. thx.

Hmm...delphy, the LUA system in IC will be used in HW2, right? IF so, can you attach a script to an animal/creature that tells when you activate a special feature, it loads a mesh/model into the game? along the same lines, can you re-name animals via a script? Also, can you give it a temporary name?

anyways, if linking ala cata isn't allowed by the HW2 code, then i hope that a ship-specific importing and deleting of ships/objects is allowed.

The simple fact of the matter is that we don't know anymore than you do Ammon, so I can't answer your questions.

We'll have to be patient and wait and see :)

bleh...so no metaphisical/philosophicl answers froom the likes of mecha/entippy/reol members.....

oh well, ill just have 2 wait patiently like the rest of us...:)
