Although i am pretty sure that i am not the first who asked this i couldn't find any relevant posts/threads on this topic.
As you can guess from the headline i am looking for a way to turn the rain/weather effects (like on fallen city) off, without lowering any other graphic options. Is that possible, and if yes, how?
(i got the latest dc version)
I am glad for every hint.

I have never looked into this actually. My initial thoughts would be that the rain might be controlled by...
Terrain Detail; FX Detail; World Effects.
Try experimenting with those to see if any actually do modify the weather at all.

Sorry if i didn't express my question clearly.
I know that i can turn off the rain by just setting the 'FX Detail'-option to low. (high - middle - low)
But then the game looks or better said, feels differently. I also noticed some differences on other maps without weather effects. - I can't describe it or give examples... it just feels weird.
My question is, if I can turn off the rain seperatly, while leaving everything else untouched. Is there a console command or something like that? I guess the ingame options just set a bunch of values in a lua, or another type of config-file.
It would be nice, if somebody with more 'computer-knowledge' could help me.

Unfortunately not - changing LUA's would render your map void, and you wouldn't be able to play on that map at all. The weather effect is built-in to the map code I do believe. I will check the files though, to be doubly sure.
Edit : No obviously changeable features are accessible. If you did manage to alter the map slightly, both you and your opponent would need the same version else nobody could join your game if you hosted - and you wouldn't be able to join anyone elses.

Ok, thanks for your effort and fast replies then.
I guess i will just go with low FX Details.
