ok, first i'd like to say i've already read most posts and used search function. i found some similar problems but no solution did help me in any way.

i have dark crusade w/o DoW+WA installed by using the workaround by vecctor to save space (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=114748).

now my problem is that the textures look very blurred, like being on low or medium setting.
note that they DONT change in any way if i switch the texture to low, med or high!

some example:
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9213/menuft4.jpg
this is a shot from the army painter.

now look at the one from graphic test (GraphicsConfig.exe):
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/362/testvi7.jpg
you can see the biggest difference at the bolter for example

the graphic test sets the quality to medium by default.

finally local.ini (note that i tried fullres_teamcolour=1)

i also used -forcehighpoly command with no result at all (as far as i can see that).
maybe i should try to do a complete reinstall, keep dow+wa but thats about 3 or 4gb wasted space and i dont even know its the issue.

i hope someone can help me here.
thx bsycho

screenantialias=0

Set this to "1". Also make sure your graphics card has AA turned on to "Application decides".

i know what anti-aliasing does.

already tried it out but for now im focusing on getting the textures to work properly, any ideas?

GroundZero

I fail to see what your issue is here?
I understood it to be the jagged edges and blurry effects of the models ingame - AA sorts this out to an extent.

What is the texture issue if it is not related to the jagged edges and blur?

Bsycho

"jagged edges" is not about textures this refers to the game resolution and anti-aliasing.

both increasing resolution or aa doesnt help to improve the textures itself.

the most weird thing is, that i cant set the textures higher to look like the ones in the graphics test.

in fact the ingame textures DONT CHANGE AT ALL, no matter what settings (low/med/high) i use. and call me wrong but i think this isnt supposed to be so.

*bump*
i really need to fix this :(

put this in the local.ini, fullres_teamcolour=1, that changes a lot of things in battle

but in the army painter i dont know if it changes anything, res is forced low in AP, that is only to do with the army painter, ingame they will be high res

Brother-horus, if you read his first post you will see that he has already tried this.

Bsycho - there is little more we can do, except wait for a word from Relic on this issue.

Adonis

No need to wait for Relic, I have the answer.

The texture you see in the graphics test, and on the main menu for Dawn of War, is a 1024 x 1024 pixel texture. The ones used in skirmish, multiplayer, and the campaign are 512 x 512, hence why they look blurry compared to the other texture.

The graphic isn't going to get any better. There's nothing wrong with the game.

im sure i remember seeing more detail ingame but?

I have mine on 1280*1024 with fullres_teamcolour and forcehighpoly both enabled, and there is a world of difference. I'm not sure about how the type of graphics card would affect this, I have a GeForce 6600 (non-GT). I'm not sure what the max resolution is for DoW, but I think that I have it set at the max available through the video setup utility, though I know you can alter that via the "screenheight" and "screenwidth" settings in the local.ini file. (Just be sure you don't mix them up! ;) )
