Hi,
my brother and me bought the game (dark crusade) but we cant play together online!!! this sucks, you cant change client port like in warcraft or Generals, and DC uses only one Client port, thats the reason, why we cant play together. We are both behind a router, and every port can be given to only one PC. At other Games you define a new port and it works. I already tried Port Trigger (but cant find the right Trigger Ports) and DMZ, everything doesnt work!!! It cant be that there is no possibility to change the clientports!

So is there a FILE or registry entry or SOMETHING ELSE to change the port???

PLEASE HELP :help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

It is nigh impossible to co-ordinate both you and your brother to be in the same game together - you could try running in UPnP Mode (if your router supports it), but I really doubt you can both be in the same game if you are behind the same Router.

There are no files or variables you can alter for this - it is hardcoded within the Gamespy lobby system.

Thats a shame - UPnP is generally the last hope. You can both play over the LAN, and play in respectively different games online ( I think ). As for both joining the same game, I really don't think that it is possible on a non-industrial Router.

You can get a third-party program called Hamachi (http://www.hamachi.cc) that lets you create a virtual private network without a lot of hassle. You can then play with your brother over the internet, although you'll be limited to LAN-type games, i.e. you won't be able to play ranked automatch.

FuRcht:

You're using the same copy on both PCs? Or you each bought your own copy?

The game can, with certain routers, play online without forwarding any ports. However, the easiest way to do it is to hook both PCs up to the internet at the same time. Most ISPs provide 2 IP addresses to their customers I'm pretty sure.

Everyone of us has a original Verison (DoW, WA, and DC) , non downloaded. I cant speak that good english, so its not easy to write what i mean ;) sry.
Yes, we have only one Wan IP address. I know we can get a second one, but this does cost.
Every other Game does have an option to change the Port (C&C Generals, WC3...), but not dawn of war. So why should i pay every month money?

DOes someone know how Port-Triggering works? i heard that it works with that, but i need an tutorial how it works. cant find one.
