"No music after loading game" - also Dark Crusade?

Hi!

With DoW v1.40 (and 1.41) and WA me and some other people are having problem that after loading a saved game there is no music and ambient sounds. This is still unsolved*.

Anyway, does anyone know if this problem still persists in the Dark Crusade expansion? I don't want to make the same mistake a sesond time buying a malfunction soft. Thanks.

Edit: I went through the process of downloading DC demo and freeing my drive C (because that *&%#!ity refused to use SET WINDOWS TEMP directory like other programs and wanted to use the drive C as the TEMP), but that demo does not have even SAVE/LOAD for these mere two missions. I guess that I'm going to let this game go >:-(

This is a known problem and as of yet there is no fix.

Hmm i've never encountered that problem personally but i've also played all the single player (original dow, wa, dc) in every aspect from start to finish with the latest patch, 1.51. Only thing I can think of off hand would be for a sound problem is to make sure all of your drivers are up to date, the game is patched to its latest version (connect to gamespy for that) and have the latest version of directx running. But as for it not repairing old 'saved' dreadnoughts? That sounds to me like the save file is have a parsing problem and isn't associating to the save correctly. As for a solution, try saving the game again after deleting the broken unit and then seeing if new ones do the same thing. Is it every time? what is your hardware your'e running, etc etc.

I have no problem with dreadnoughts.
As for the music problem - yes, everything is up to date, DX9c etc. Only I don't want to install SP2.
It is a mystery :-/
