View Full Version : Can you do something for the deaf?

The deaf are at a disadvantage when facing Eldar. Everyone can hear the Eldar's bleeping sounds on the map and know where there hidden bases and warp portals are, except the deaf. Which I love, cause it makes the Eldar such a joke to play against now... just listen for their bases and send your spotters there, and kill. Their bases are so weak, it's so easy to wipe them out once you can see them. Sure, it's a bit rough with the Tau who have very limited spotters, but you get the Eldar on the run and they can never build fast enough to recover!

At any rate, my deaf friend can not hear the bleeping sounds when he plays. Also, sometimes I have to play with the sound real low of off, myself.

Can you make it so that the Eldar bases make some sort of graphical *BLING* *BLING* or something on the map, this way we don't have to bother listening for them we cand simply see where their 'hidden bases' are.

Thanks,
Juggler

The current 'bling' sound is actually 'debatably' a bug issue, the only way for them to be detected should be with use of Detectors.

I agree with GZ, i hope they do away with the bling noise in future, because not only does it give away their positions but it also is extremely annoying to the person playing eldar having their entire base make noise every second.

As for a graphical alternative to the bling noise, i don't think there is a work around, but if you want to continue exploiting the noise then try using headphones if you're only turning the sound off so others don't hear it.

Unfortunately also, the way that you can look at this is that a deaf person still has significant advantages in the game/s over a blind person. This will never change unfortunately in such a fast paced game where every second counts.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that a deaf person would like to have subtitles. Murph, bless him, used to lobby for that every time a new Relic title was announced.

I agree Adimas (member.php?u=100066), I was just thinking that the other day.. and I'm sure not for the first time. That sound, when I'm playing Eldar can really get on my nerves!
