Dark Crusade will not accept my Winter Assault key :(

I just bought the Dawn of War: Gold Edition and Dark Crusade. I have installed everything correctly. When I first run Dark Crusade, it asks for my keys, accepting my Dawn of War key but not my Winter Assault key. I receive a "This key appears to be invalid, please triple check, you just wasted your money blah blah" What can I do?:wtf:

I suspect that you may be entering the key incorrectly.

Are you trying to play with the Imperial Guard online against other Dark Crusade players or just play the Single Player? If just single player, you can play with the IG during single player.

I have entered the key over and over getting more and more aggitated. I have loaded Winter Assault confirming that the key functions. It seems there is something else going on. Its not really a matter of it working for multiplayer, it is a matter of not having the winter assault key request pop-up evertime I run Dark Crusade. It is also a matter of me feeling content with my purchase. Is it possible that during the initial install of the Gold Edition, I entered the key incorrectly and it still works? This doesnt seem likely due to the fact that it a)lets me install b)lets me play it.

The reason I ask is because the installer for WA does not verify the key AFAIK, so it's possible to enter a key that may or may not be valid.

The important thing is if it will let you go online with that key for WA.

I think I recall batch of keys NOT working, but you'd have to search for answers about that or check with THQ (number in the back of the manual).

I have not tried to go online with it. It now seems very possible that the key entered during the Gold Edition install is not entered correctly. I will have to verify using the registry methods described in this forum. Does the Dark Crusade key check verify the key with what you entered during previous installations?

No, it verifies based on internal calculations AFAIK.

Well I decided to do what I should have done in the first place. I searched these forums and it seems that this issue can be fixed by reinstalling the game. It also seems that you can fix it by utilizing regedit and confirming the keys in the Dawn of War entry. I will give that a try and update whether that works for me. I am pretty sure that it will due to the success I see in the forums. BTW, thanks for the help UberJumper
