hey, i was going through the files after i had altered them in the data folder, i had ship, weapon, and scripts. i noticed that my altercations were...a little off and caused a crash in the game during universe loading, so i deleted weapon and scripts fine, but when i got to ships it wouldnt allow me to delete them, an error message pops up saying that ships cant be deleted because it is being used by another person or program, i only had 1 window open and nothing running...i looked through and saw some files i hadnt seen before is some of the ships files, the normal event and ship, but then 1 called madstate, what is that? inside the file it lists

I have the same issue, but the thing is.. the ships themselves can be deleted, just not the 'ships' folder. Odd eh?

When I have the deleted file is used and I'm not using it problem a reboot usually allows me to then delete them

yeah thats basicly what i did, after 2 tries it worked...heh iv got yet another problem, theres something wrong with the scrips folder...glad i noticed a common link in the crashes.

ok so i got around that problem, but im left with a script file that crashed during universe load just by merely adding it to the data folder, anyone know what the problem might be?

It didn't decompile properly, if you decompiled it.
