Automatch - People can't connect to my games

Hi
I've had this problem for ages now and it's getting annoying. When I search for automatch games I can only ever join peoples games, when it says "New Players are joining your game" it just takes about 3 minutes before the other person gives up.

I've tried finding a solution and I heard one way was to open certain ports for Gamespy. Well I've opened every port on my router from about 1-65000 and it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

run the net test stickied in this forum - that will tell you whether the ports needed by DoW are forwarded correctly.

I'd like to do the test but the thing has been down for about 4-5 days :(

the test will come up fine for you but say NAT detected you are NAT bugged just like me


you can never host a automatch
you can join some automatches
you can join some lobby games if the host or the other players already in if you dont have the NAT bug
you can host a lobby game but no one with the NAT bug can join

when automatching use ctrl-shift-~ to see how the connection is going you will soon learn to use this to help speed up the process of getting a automatch going
