Okay, this is a weird one.
While playing dawn of war dark crusade, it'll just stop running.
no "do you want to leave the game?" message like when you press alt-f4
no "this processes has ended unexpectedly, would you like to send an error report to windows?" message
no BSoD
Just one second I'm kicking ass, the next I'm looking at my windows desktop.
The warnings log doesn't give any clues either, the last message it has is me starting the game.
The frequency is exceptionally random. Sometimes I'll play several rounds (mostly skirmish and lan) with no problems, other times it'll happen 5 minutes into a match.
I haven't encountered this phenomena with any other games I've played. I used to have problems with all my 3d games crashing (really crashing, as in I at least got a message from windows telling me my program had ended unexpectedly) but I traced that to an overheating issue, installed riva tuner, bumped up my gpu fan to 100%, and haven't had any problems sense.
And nope, I'm not doing any overclocking whatsoever, everything is set to default (the g8800s just run hot, it was actually overheating with default settings, go figure)
