Hi,

Since i got a new Pc I experience a weird problem in Dark Crusade, some specific weapon effects are missing ingame. Example's are:

- Necron turrets
- Necron Immortals
- Tau Skyray missle barrage

The firing animations is playing but no weapon or 'beam' effects. The Skyray barrage shows no blue glowing and no explosions, tho i do see the rockets fly Necron turrets are shooting and doing damage but they don't show any green attack beams. What i find very weird about this is that allmost all other weapon effects are showing! For example i can see the normal Necron warriors shoot but not the immortals :S

My (new) hardware: AMD X2 5200 +, Geforce 8800 GTS 320, 2 gb ddr2, running Windows XP media center edition. I've already tryed many things:

- Updating the drivers (newest nvidia drivers, reinstalled DX9 etc)
- Reinstalled the full game from scratch including the latest patch 1.2
- Been tweaking around (turning options on/off) with grafix options, including the Ultra high textures settings which require editing of the start icon
- Tryed the Spooge error fix from Uber for windows Vista (even tho I run windows XP)
- Dxdiag gives no errors, neither are there error messages from Dark Crusade itself, no warning logs either

To be honest i'm out of idea's what to try next. :( :(:(... perhaps someone has a tip? Tho it seems a minor thing, it really effects my game cause i can't see esp. vs Necron if those immortals are attacking my vehicles etc :(

Fixed it myself! After searching some more i found out that old drivers you remove can still leave some traces behind on your pc and conflict with the new drivers (i went from a geforce 6800 LE to a 8800 GTS and those have different drivers). So what i did:

- Uninstall the current (up to date drivers)
- Run Driver Cleaner Pro and remove all nvidia grafix drivers
- Reinstall the drivers

Now all the effects show up again :) i'll leave this topic be perhaps someone else runs into this problem.
