I posted in general but this is more tech related...

What does it do exactly?

When using -forcehighpoly is it supposed to do this:

When you zoom all the way out it should not change to low res texture, but I am noticing it is still doing this with -forcehighpoly.
It stays "highres" all they way to 1 click before the farthest zoom out and then you can see the textures change to the more blurry low res. version.

Or, is this not correct, does it just effects the models and the LOD textures still swap at max. zoom?

Thanks!

Not sure what it does, but the behavior you think it has sounds more like fullres_teamcolour in Local.ini. It forces the textures to always be rendered at the full resolution.

Hope this helps!

I am using fullres_teamcolour as well, and it is working. I am wondering why I am getting a texture swap at full zoom... thanks.

there uis no texture swap, textures dont work like that, its the fact that when you get too close you can see each pixel, but its the same texture.

Actaully they do work like that ... they have an LOD system that can change your models and textures or both when you get to a certain distance from an object. It's done in game engines all the time. :)

So, why am I getting a texture swap at max zoom? Actually this games does work this way if you are using fullres_teamcolour=1 When the distance gets to a certain point it adjusts the LOD down from fullres_teamcolour=1 to fullres_teamcolour=0.

If you don't use fullres_teamcolour=1 you would not see this happen.

Thanks!
