Long story short, I reinstalled WinXP this morning after having some serious problems with my audio devices, first time I've had to reinstall WinXP on this machine(which I've had for almost a year). While reinstalling I decided I was going to run it a little more securely from the beginning and created admin account for installing and upgrades, and limited user account for everyday use. I've just gotten done reinstalling DoW, WA and DC. Dark Crusade runs fine under limited user. Dow and WA on the other hand don't. I can get into the menu but once I click on campaign both just crash. I've spent all day making sure Windows is fully patched, all three War40k games are fully patched, and I made sure to grab the lastest drivers for all my devices. The games run fine under the admin account, but I don't want to have to make a "runas /user:admin" command and type in my admin password everytime I want to play DoW and WA.

Has anyone else run into this, and if so how to I get around having to have admin rights to play these two games.

EDIT: I just noticed the warnings file. Apparently after the last patch I guess I didn't check the games. The warnings file came up with errors opening a whole bunch of files... guess I'll worry about it later.

That's rather odd. I've just tested running DoW and WA with my limited user account and they both run fine - both campaign and skirmish. Let's have a look at your DoW/WA warnings.log file.

The warnings.log contains a lot of errors for files which dont exist because they shouldnt exist - post the log so we can see if any of your errors are actual errors.

DoW should run on a limited account with just one known issue - if the account doesnt have write permissions for the directory where save games are stored then you are unable to save in campaign mode (this shouldnt surprise anyone and the fix is obvious).
