I did a search, but I didn't find a mention of this particular error. When trying to patch Dark Crusade to 1.2, I get an error that some files are missing or corrupt, and that I should reinstall. Reinstalling, even re-downloading, however, doesn't change anything.
I get the following PATCH.ERR:
ENTRY: W40k\W40kData-Whm-Low.sga
error ept0018: Failure Opening New File: I:\warhammer\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\W40k\RTE42130
The file exists, and isn't read-only or anything... Any ideas?

Tricky one; where did you download the patch from?
Try using the automated system in Multiplayer. Also, check your system for Viruses, Trojan and Malware as they sometimes have a habit of altering files.
Do you have any Mods installed or anything in the directories aside from the bog standard game files?

Well, I just tried again. I uninstalled everything, re-defragged the drive again, shut down my antivirus and firewall, and reinatslled everything, using the auto update.
Still have an issue. However, it seems the name of the file has changed. Patch.err:
ENTRY: W40k\W40kData-Whm-High.sga
error ept0018: Failure Opening New File: I:\Warhammer\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\W40k\RTD69530
When watching the patch, it looks like it gets through everything fine but the w40k files.
And when I jist ran the file again, I got a different name for the file it dies on:
ENTRY: W40k\W40kData-Whm-High.sga
error ept0018: Failure Opening New File: I:\Warhammer\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\W40k\RTD88210
Still the same error though. Can you tell me what an EPT0018 error is? Perhaps that will shed some light on the situation.

I have the same problem and nothing seems to help. I had some AI mod but uninstalled it before patching. Reinstalling the game doesnt help.

The EPT0018 errors are file corruptions which are narrowed down to several factors...
-Mods
-Editted Files (Using DoWTools and saving the files within the actual game directory)
-Virus editting the Files
-Corrupt Patch download
-Hard Drive Errors (run Scandisk)
Basically the first port of call will be an official uninstallation, then go along to the registry and the actual game folders (../Program Files/THQ/Dawn of War - Dark Crusade) and deleting the whole file system from there and under.
Then re-install.

This error, still occurs after the patch ends. I deleted everything about DC and still shows the error. I deleted officially then deleted the other files it left. But it still shows the error. Plz help

I got the same problem. It is the disk sapce. I had 1.34 gig free and it wasn't enough. I freed up another gig and it worked fine.

Guard11 : Give Boptom's fix a whirl. It makes sense; you need around 3GB free Hard Drive on the same Hard Drive that the Operating System is installed upon to be able to patch the games.
