:reporter: Description :

This mod provides a new playable race for Dawn of War Dark Crusade, an RTS game by Relic, published by THQ, based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40 000 universe.

You can now play the Daemonhunters, a branch of the Inquisition in charge of destroying daemons, chaos cults and all chaotic influence from the Imperium.
The army's commander is the Inquisitor Lord and he commands over the Inquisition's troops.
When the opposition gets too strong, though, he calls on the secret chapter of Space Marines called the Grey Knights, super humans whose absolute faith and mighty psychic powers make them the most formidable soldiers in the service of the Emperor.

This mod is for Dark Crusade only, and is aimed to be balanced to be played against the already existing races in game.

:read: Installation and use instructions :

After unziping the files, just double click on the installer named "inquisition_daemonhunt_mod.exe" and follow the instructions.

Two VERY IMPORTANT notes :

1- The installer has a glitch : it will load 1%, saying it installs the "uninstall_ID.icon", and then will seem to freeze for a minute or two, while the CPU is used at 98%.
Don't worry. It's not a virus. It happens to everyone. It's just that it unzips the big sga file, which takes some time with the swap file.
Anyway, once the freeze is over, the installation will be finished in seconds.

2- Once the install is finished, an internet style document will be displayed. Please do take the time to read it in details since it contains many precious informations such as the complete Tech Tree description, and tips on the strategies to use with this new race.

Many thanks for all your kind words. It's a warm hearting feeling I am really grateful for.

I hope you'll enjoy the mod and that you'll still have kind things to say once you actually try it out.

My sincere hope is that it shows to all of the modding community that it can be done. At many points in making a mod you just say to yourself "I'll never see the end of it". Well, cheer up : it can be done. A mod can actually be finished.
Of course, you have to draw a line. There are plenty of things I would like to improce in this mod, but it would take me another year.
So, take strenght, fellow modders, and please bring us plenty of great mods.

@Elfuretto : I know you didn't mean it in a bad way, but I really think the comparison with Relic is not to be done.

First because they have deadlines that we have not (imagine them taking a couple of years to do each race ?)

Second because their work is immensely more efficient than ours, and it takes many parameters into consideration that we just discarded (old computers, translation, etc...). The more I mod, the more I respect Relic's work.



This being said, thank you for the praises, they are very much appreciated.

i just had a quick play and i must say its pretty darn good.
i was still looking and admiring the units that i forgot i had an enemy.

i almost cacked myself when i had a huge swarm of orks attacking me backed up by a GK landraider and lots of inquisitorial storm troopers.

then i have grey knights deepstriking in my base.

i am quite impressed with all the buildings and units.

even with the landraiders fire animation on the twin linked lascannons. i always imagined that it should fire like that.
i was also thinking that daemonhunters dont get hellhounds untill i took a closerlook and saw it was a chimera lol.
ive still got to take a closer look at the gk stuff as i got uterly pawned. maybe ill use my no rush script to do that...

Hey guys, I've got a problem with the mod, every time I try to activate it I get a message that says "Failed to activate Game!" or something to that equivalent. Any ideas what's wrong?

Btw, excellent mod, can't wait to get it working

Houston, we have a problem... I can't see the mod in the game manager list. Any idea about what the hell is happening? xDDD

Installation was smoothly and all ok. The mod seems properly installed but... I can't activate it cause... I can't see it! xDD

I've installed it and its great, one of the best mods on any game I've ever played, but I have a problem. For some reason I can't zoom in and out but I'm still able to turn the camera around and such, should I just reinstall the mod?

hmmmm i cant zoom in and out on normal DOW DC so maby its just a qlitch not conected to the mod.

just played 1 vs 2 on inquisitors fortress with no scar error (must have been the survival pack which is my preffered game type)

amazing work great art brilliant units and very balanced so far!

only problem is with the damage it does to my cpu and also in that I cannot use the exterminatus or lance strike outside the range of my HQ for some reason, am I missing something?

Exlent mod, I have to admited, I unnistaled the game a few weeks ago, but when I saw that this mod would be released I had to re-install it again ;)

The mod seems excelent form images and video, but unfortably I cant play it yet, I have the same problem has hansdracow, the mod doesnt appear on mod list. I have DC v1.0, since I cant update it to 1.1. XD.

The mod is fantastic. I love the GK units. You guys did a great job making them shiny, yet not too shiny. Also, the models mesh perfectly with Relic's - they really look like they belong in the game. The special effects are great, too.

The effects on the LP1 give me quite a lot of slowdown, though.

Ok for the errors issue. As stated before it only works if you ar patched up to 1.2.

The orbital bombardment ability is triggered by the Astrotelepathica building, it has a maximum range around it. To use it well you need to build one closer to the fighting, like a forward base, helps to build a Grey Knight teleporter close by for cover fire:)

Any other issue keep em coming. I'll check in on this thread throughout the night, til about 2AM EST.

there's a small glitch with the grey knight teleporter (the one which builds grey knights, in case I got the name wrong).
While building it, if you hover your cursor over it, you get the tooltips come up. However, they flash on and off, as does the green selection box of the building itself, so it can only be selected while its flashed "on". Nothing too major.
Also it seems odd that I could build the building which calls those orbital bombardment abilities down, but it couldn't actually do anything at the time I built it (requiring more tech). Also in this buildings tooltips something about it calling grey knights was written?

Other than those pretty insignificant points, utterly brilliant work. Playing it it actually seemed as though a proffesional team had made it. Congratulations!

Yeah Grab, it is a little wierd at first. Most of your concerns are the tech tree. The Astrotelepathica is required by a number of other units. To use some of its abilities you need an Inquisitor, he is the one with the authourity to call down strikes. It can be a bother later in the game when the enemy take him out just when you need some support fire.

Later it is where you requisition the Mighty Land Raider for deepstriking.
I love it when I load three Grey Knight squads into the Crusader then load it into the Telepathica. My Death cultist infiltrates into the enemy territory and BLAMO!!!! Grey Knight drop death!

That's because the building is represented by the rotating icon until it get teleported, so if you pass over the icon border due to the rotation you can select it only when perpendicular to the screen.

Since I have nothing new to add to the (well deserved) thanks and gratulations and I don't want to bore you, I'll skip that. ;)

There's a graphical error with the GK teleporter. When a new teleporter is built after "ultimate forces" is researched, it starts with lascannons, but the turret itself is missing:

I am kind of curious though, I will occasionally get these "$(Insert number here) No Range" errors and these little black lines comming out of certain buildings.

I wondered if anyone has had that little problem yet. Nothing that cant be ignored, but just thought Id bring it to your attention.

I cannot seem to play this over hamachi. I get a sync error after a little bit(under a minute) and then my game crashes to desktop when i go to the stats screen. It works fine in single player skirmish.

I just downloaded and played 3 games.. you freakin rock Comp. This mod is astounding The balance is great, the visuals are great, and it feels and IS fluffy. This is the most professional new race mod I've ever seen. Great, great job. I love it.

Just had a quick play does anyone feel that the daemonhunter lack heavy support, just had a quick skirmish versing chaos and i got my ass kicked by his tanks (i used dreadnoughts with lascannons) and then the oblitarotors just creamed my GK before they got into combat, but beside that very good mod i especially like the fire and brimstone affect

Wow this is one brilliant mod. I like the building "drop" animations when they're being delivered. One tiny criticism I have from looking in the army painter is that the legs on the basic Grey Knights units are a bit "skinny" and the thighs are are a bit long apart from that this mod ROCKS!!

Great work guys. Relic ought to employ you guys, along with medes, the c2c team and the steel legion team.

Just waiting to see what the Nids mod turns out like now. :)

Those little black antiaesthetic lines are shadow errors that will be fixed in the 2.0
The value $xxxxxx no range is about a missing value in the .ucs

I have just played it for a few hours, and it is friggen fantastic. I noticed the GK teleporter error, but thats not a big deal. It's really well balanced except for a few things here and there. This mod has increased the life of this game, it really has.

EDIT: ^ She's cloaked.

Just a few questions as I wait for it to finish. Where can people direct balance issues/bugs? Do you plan to work with any other mods that are still in the works? For instance the thousand suns mod that got dropped or the sisters. I'm sure its a bit premature since you do have the voices still to do for your own mod. I guess I'm just curious if you plan to use your great talents in other mods.

- this mod is for DC 1.2
- if you are used to play some other mods (especially balance mods), you must exit them before playing our mod.
1- in the game manager, select "Dark Crusade", this will relaunch your game
2- in the game manager, select "Inquisition_Daemonhunt", this will relaunch your game

Not related to our mod. Check your camera settings in the graphic settings menu. Set it to 3D.

Please tell us what language you are playing in and report all the missing ucs.
Black lines are shadow errors. I'm afraid you'll have to live with them, as explained in the tech booklet, or lower your settings for shadows in the graphic settings menu.
Please note that they are map related. Using another map can change this issuer dramatically.

i played a couple games and yea.. im impressed. It even seems fairly balanced, its not impossible but not too easy either. can't wait to see what voices you put in.
i think the only problems im having is not being used to the tech tree and various researches, so yea just a matter of time.

Well it doesn't seem to be a 3D camera issue for me. After I installed ID I was unable to zoom in, so I switched it back to normal DC 1.2 only to find that I couldn't zoom in AND all my schemes were deleted. Is there any way I can correct this without reinstalling my game?

Our mod is compatible with other mods if you have the know how to set the module files right (it may not be balanced against other mods, though).
Sorry, we don't provide support for the moment on how to combine our mod with other mods, but post your question in the Adeptus Modificatus sub forum and you'll probably get some help.

Uh ????? Our installer just installs 2 folders and 2 files. We don't modify anything in the engine folder.
Have you checked in your Profiles/Profile 1 /dxp2 folder if there is still a Schemes folder ?
Have you modded your game before, such as installing other mods or modding things yourself ?
When you say you reverted to DC 1.2, do you mean you selected Dark Crusade in the Game Manager and relaunch the game ?

Well, I have no idea what is the problem with your computer.
Probably something to do with a firewall ?
I know some people have had issues with filefront in the past, that's why I am uploading at the moment to another server (graciously offered by Moe).


As for the screenshots : they should be in your regular screenshots folder. There is no reason the mod should change anything to this, since it's a game feature, not mod dependent.
It works fine on my computer.
Just try again, it should work.

the ucs text stings that some people are getting is most likely the fact that heroes hasnt been added, or the ucs header was changed.

thats only the ucs strings that arent proper text on screen for me.

Astounding mod! I have played two games on the new 8 player city map which is a great map also. The only issue I have seen is the lascanon fire graphics on the grey knight transporter. Everything else is perfect. The AI is particularly effective. Congratulations ID team!

Just played my first match.

Just the atmosphere this mod gives off is amazing. Everything feels incredibly polished. Cant say anything about balance though, as I dropped the difficulty to easy for my first game.

The only thing that feels out of place is the lack of custom voices. Are they in the works for future versions?

Ok thanks compiler brilliant mod.

I can't figure out how to combine it with other mods because you don't seem to have built it the way other mods are built, i.e. folders like Data\Art etc...

Short of extracting it all I don't see a way of combining it but then I'm a relative noob to modding and corsixs mod studio comes up with an unable to make x file writable error so that pretty much rules out extracting all the files to combine them with other mods, oh well ce la vie.

I've posted in the mod manager thread to seek help regarding that, it keeps crashing at the loading screen - god knows why I can run the mods from corsixs mod studio fine.

Still this is an absolutely brilliant mod and when I can get it to work against Steel Legion and all the other mods I've downloaded I'll be having some really cool battles.

Great work 10/10 :)

Because I've noticed that anything (even buildings or Squiggoths or Monoliths or whatnot) directly in front of the bad boy only takes fire from the autocannons and the multimelta. This wouldn't be that big of a problem, but the AI is for the LR to automatically face directly towards what you tell it to target...

its probably a traverse miscalculation. its not really anything hard to fix (just coding).

Then do not use the move button for the Crusader, use attack move (press A and select destination). Crusader will stop at optimal firing distance and unleash hell :) If the range from a target is too short, sponsons will choose alternative targets.

I think I speak for the whole team when I say that all of your comments are a deep joy to us, because of their kindness, and because they show you had a good time.

I finished uploading to another server, I'm just waiting for Moe to fix a security problem and we'll be set.


To answer a few questions :
- we do hope to add new voices in the next version
- yes this version's AI is powered by the Skirmish AI mod
- for the moment, I haven't got the time to support the combination of our mod with other mods. Please post such questions in the adeptus modificatus forum

Quite frankly, I don't know. No one in the team had ever a problem to take screenshots, and our mod doesn't modify the game engine at all.
So I don't see how our mod possibly could be responsible for this.

Those people have problems with army schemes I believe you have to copy accross your saved schemes from the DXP2 folder to the mod folder.

Though I'm still waiting for it to finish downloading, I have no doubt it will be a more than worthy portrayal of the Emperor's most Holy servants.

You are correct, i have never personally experianced vista or seen it for that matter, but i know it over protects the users files to the point of not being able to do anything. (XP forever)

Congrats to Compiler and the ID team.

This mod is great and extremely fun to play.Just one question,the anti-vehicles seems to available too late when the enemies are using vehicle to slaughter the ID.

I cant wait to see the next version with voices in and the day where i can use ID to fight along with Steel Legion and Witch Hunters against the foul army of Chaos.

- yes this version's AI is powered by the Skirmish AI mod
- for the moment, I haven't got the time to support the combination of our mod with other mods. Please post such questions in the adeptus modificatus forum

The I: DH do have anti vehicle power it just needs a lot of micro.

It's a whole lot of fun! I especially like the Nemesis weapon and the flaming gibbets :D Hoping to play more than a test game this weekend...

2 things I might suggest:
1) The Inquisitor commander icon looks a bit effeminate Obviously this is very trivial however!

2) I think Grabnutz mentioned earlier, the building with the Naval Mega Melta (best name ever) has tool tips saying that you can build GK's, however the icons don't appear until later, making it harder to deduce what you need to build.

Great mod!

+Unit graphics are just drop dead gorgeous, easily the most detailed I've seen in DoW scene.

+Lot's of fluff! Gotta love those church bell and chant sounds when you click the buildings.

- Listening post banners did show some as some Ork banners during the game(were OK in army painter), but this is a minor bug that is hopefully easy to fix.

- I would prefer using Gabriel Angelos voice from original Dow with GK commander instead of that puny DC Force Commander voice.

-/+Cannot seriously comment on balance by playing one game vs vanilla chaos AI. That being said, at least it felt that lack of IG style defensive units/structures were nicely balanced by T3 Grey Knights and their vehicles, which are über as they should be.

-/+ No new voices, BUT it is definitely better use excisting(even if they are a bit inappropiate) voices than to make medicore/bad voices by self. I think Steel Legion is the only mod where are decent custom voices so far.

And speaking of SL, this mod is on the same class with it. Apart from voices, a very polished and professional. Could easily been an official expansion stuff, it's that good.

(Oh and please make a freely distributed versioin of that Land Raider Crusader with common SM colour scheme, so that other mods can use it :) )

After playing 2 more games,i think i found some bugs:
-there are completely no hotkeys in DH,only the standards ones are there.
-The new in game musics is nice but for some unknown reason,i heard Necron and Tau main menu music played after the new song that comes with I:DH.
-Also,maybe it's just me,i find the main menu music too loud.

well, like Compiler i'm in not a good shape in the office today. next to working all day i currently have to learn for my studies in what's left of my free time... usually i have no time to play any games at the moment. but with Inquisition: Daemonhunt released i just had to try it out yesterday night, so i didn't get much sleep... but it was definately worth every second i stayed awake! huh boy, what a great mod!!!
the first impression has blown me away, the quality of the mod is breathtaking and the ordo malleus as a race feels just right in every way, i.e. not only regarding balance but also regarding the flair and style of the army.
what makes this mod so special and high quality is that you feel the amount of love and attention to detail that went into it. my brother kept clicking on the HQ building for about ten minutes because he couldn't get enough of the churchbell ringing, and also all the other custom sound are fantastic and add to the overall feeling of the race.
i could go on for hours and praise the mod team for the outstanding work and wouldn't even come close to how much i appreciate what they've done. THANK YOU SO MUCH for a whole new game experience with my all time favourite game DoW and my beloved Grey Knights!

ive played it a while, everything seems perfect, but the listening posts seem to lower my fps considerably, they seem very FX heavy

One minor thing :
fullres_teamcolour = 1 makes the DH custom banner defaults to the (Ork) banner placeholder

Brother Horus was right when setting models details to HIGH the DH banner is replaced with the placeholder banner, ie an ork banner

ok, a couple of things:

1) Has anyone else tried to play "against" the DHs? My game has closed twice when I have tried to do this.

2) not really anything negative, but have you considered adding things for the other races (ie: perhaps asking for DowXP)? Note that because of what I said above, I have not been able to play as the other races, so don't know if you did or not ><

I get no range when i try to use the heroes mod with it.

It gives me the little tips when units are uprgaded but you cannot view their level by selecting a unit. Intead of saying 'Veteran' or w/e it says blahblahblah No range.

Great looking mod, unfortunately i suck at DC so the AI always pwns me. (Even on easy! How bad am i ^^)

First post here. Hello all.

I 've just played 5-6 skirmishes with the Daemonhunters against Chaos and I decided to sign up in the forum, just to thank the ID team for their excellent work.

Graphics and gameplay are truly fantastic.

And the music, oh the music!

But most important, the feel, the atmopshere is so captivating!

The entire package is so perfectly fluffy, so extremely "theological" that, although I was only playing skirmishes ( which generally are not that atmopheric ) , I totally identified with the Daemonhunters and was living every moment of the battle. I was almost afraid! And when the Grey Knights kicked in... what a relief!

Up to now, I disliked the Inquisition for being insane, merciless, corrupted bastards who slaughtered entire planets for a laugh.

After the ID Mod, I proclaim: Mea culpa! Praise the Inquisition thats protects us from the Great Enemy!

( And although I know it's never going to happen, I still pray to our Father the Emperor for a small single player campaign, that would allow the ID mod to shine in its full glory... Well, everyone has the right to dream... )

First of all congratulations to all the team on releasing this brilliant mod looks awesome also plays very well have been looking forward to it for a while.

But i seem to have a little issue doesnt affect gameplay though, but i had only the default tau frontend model and regulaer dc frontend menu when i load the mod , i assumed with such a high quality mod that it would have custom menus etc since you guys put so much time and effort into every other aspect of the mod (not that i demand such things ofcourse), so i decided to have a little look into the mod files (with ibborads sga tool) to see if you had included such things which you had , i tried to extract the mod directory but it is protected ( not here to discuss this totally your choice to do so) , but it did manage to extract frontendmodels.lua and i now have the inquisitor when i start the mod up but still the default dc menu.

This could have something to do with my own setup ofcourse , but it may also have something to do with packaging the frontend files in an sga file , just wanted to let you know of this incase its an issue , i myself put a lot of work into custom menus for the blood angels mod and would be dissapointed if no one seen them , im sure who ever made the menus for your mod would feel the same.

Again awesome mod , a big thank you for all the teams efforts to release this mod, well done.

Commissar Krupp has hit the nail on its head. The atmosphere is just unbelievable. I knew that it was gonna be a great mod, but having played it, it is drop-dead fantastic! When I saw the Grey Knights and the Land Raider Crusader, I actually got a cramp in my jaw due to grinning like a mad dog for over half an hour.

I started a game on easy with a chaos opponent (poor cultists ...) and I remember just oogling at every building as it was build. Every upgrade was tested (thanks to the cultists for being quite-stubborn-yet-complying-volunteers), every unit build and inspected from every angle. Seeing some weaponservitors open up on a foolish Cultist attack was just awesome.

The game lasted over an hour, just because I couldn't stop drooling at ... well, everything!

The ID mod of course has its own start menu with an Inquisitor Lord.
It doesn't load the first time you load the mod, but as soon as you chose the Daemonhunters, either in the army selector or skirmish setting, when you come back the Inquisitor will wait for you.

As for the menus.
There are plenty of things that we could have modified : menus, intro video and other such things.
I refrained from doing this because I wanted to keep as much as possible the inter mod compatibility.

As I said above, multi mod compatibility was one of our prime objectives.
We have had contacts with the AS mod for very long, and, AFAIK, both mods will be balanced against vanilla DC, and with multi mod compatibility in mind.
KRMZ has stated repeatedly that it was his intention to keep his mod compatible with all like minded mods.

So I think it is quite safe to answer "yes" to your question above.

That's a somewhat different question.
DowXP is a great and popular mod which rebalances all of the races.
I think it also adds to each race (sorry, I haven't played it since WA time).
Our mod is balanced against vanilla DC, with a tech tree of similar complexity as DC.
Porting DC to DowXP can be done in two ways, as explained in our license :
- if DowXP is interested in adding the Daemonhunters race to their mod, they can do so by requiring the players to download our mod and use our mod as a prerequisite in the DoWXP module.
The two mods stay separated, and a player would still be able to play Inquisition : Daemonhunt alone if he wished to do so, but he could also play DowXP with a new race.
This is entirely up to the DowXP mod leaders.
- if this is something else (like taking some of our models here and there to add to DowXP mod), then the DowXP mod leaders should contact me to see what is possible to do.

regarding the placeholder banner, i think i found an explanation :
I extracted (long ago when patch 1.2 was released) all .whm files for HIGH models ONLY (i did not extract MED and LOW because i usually dont use these settings) in order to short loading time and improve perfs on my computer.
I guess DC engine try to load first extracted whm data and if nothing is found then compressed datas in sga archive right ? Because i extracted only HIGH whm files from the archive the engine take the FIRST banner that it found (the orkish one) skipping the DH banner...
So it was not a bug it was my fault... sorry

btw on one of the new maps, i cant remember the name, its 2 player and is like a daemon world. the civilians on there are either my team or enemy and often i find my grey nights go running off after a 1000 health civilian instead of fighting the real opponents. is this purposeful or just a slight problem? it isnt too bad, it just means on that map it is often important when attacking to follow closely so you dont waste good marines on a civilian.

Final got it to work.

The landraider crusader is verry well made. i loved the fact that you can see the scanners on the turrets moving. Also realy like your 8 player map in the city.

Compiler, i see from your license that you have stated that no modder be allowed to extract or modify any of the mods components.
does this mean that .rgd modders making private not-for-release-to-anyone-ever mods will not be able to tweak ID to fit with slightly different game rules (e.g. different pop caps), even if the product of such modding is kept exclusively for thier own use?
I thought copyright rules like this forbad only the distribution, without consent, of modded third party content.

I would like to congratulate everyone who worked on this mod as it is the best mod ever. Its gameplay is great and the models rock! The attention to detail is amazing, I have played a few games already and i just cant stop. Unfortunatley i have to wait 2 weeks until i can play it again :(

Kendallv2000 - I just played online with a mate of mine (with the mod obviously) and it worked fine. It crashed straight to desktop once when i went to use the "Orbital Bombardment" type skill from the Domus building (the name eludes me,like mega melta or something) on a vehicle, but when used again on a building, it was fine. bug maybe?

It is most likely a problem with my own setup ,i couldnt get the menu/inquistior to show even after selecting daemon hunters in skirmish and army painter , but with a bit of fiddling managed to get them to show now so problem solved .



Sorry if it seemed like i was implying that you should have modified all the menus this was not my intention , i only meant to say that when i saw no custom menu at the start screen that i was almost certain that your mod would have had a one which it did , i just could not see it because of a problem on my own pc , you are right about not replacing every menu i also decided against doing this for the ba mod.

Copyright laws state that whoever is the creator can set as many restrictions he wants. For instance, you are not allowed to retro engineer Windows or other such programs. This is a limit set by the creator. When you but Windows (or some other piece of software, this is just an example), you buy the right to use it under whatever restrictions the creator set.

Nope. Of course, if it's just on your computer, no one will ever know, but, formally, you don't have this authorisation (this to prevent the accidental "loan" of such a mod being reloaned to someone else, who publish it on the net "without knowing it was forbiden").

This is a problem that will be talked about within the team, should the need arrise but, obviously, people who invested money in the mod will be refunded first.

Actually, it seems you are the only one who is experiencing this zoom problem.
Since the mod doesn't modify anything which could modify the camera settings, I am quite at a loss to find a solution.
If someone else has the same problem, please speak up !
In the meantime, here is what you can try (the following supposes an installation that has no mod installed except Inquisition Daemonhunt) :
- open DC, go to the game manager, select Dark Crusade, let the game relaunch. Then go to the graphic settings options and set the camera settings to "integral 3D".
- see if there is a file called camera_something in your Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\Engine\Data folder. If there is one, try deleting it (make a backup just in case)
At the moment, that's all I can think of since, obviously, it has no link with our mod.

As for the crash problem when playing multiplayer online, I have no idea what may be causing it.
If anyone experienced in multiplayer could explain it to me, that's be great.

When you say you can't zoom in anymore, do you mean you were able to in Vanilla, or you were able to in XP, or both? ID uses the vanilla camera controls which are limited in their zoom in/out. This can be fixed by placing the correct camera files that allow zoom into the DXP/Data folder. Those files can be found if you do a search for them on the forums.

DowXP focus is to expand the races and only applies balance where necessary or when trying to follow TT fluff a little more.

It would definately be best to keep ID intact as a seperate race, as too much work has gone into the buildings. I see no reason to share/exchange bits and pieces when it's already a self contained race with sufficient content. Thus DowXP would require ID as a seperate download keeping it in its original untouched form.

But it would be nice to be able to within DowXP tweak some ID parameters for a better fit within DowXP's world.

The only problem I can see is where melta effects and plasma cannon effects differ between mods. I'm sure Riker would share his improved effects with you.

Actually I was amazed when I first saw this one.
It does play good, although I still need to get into it a little more so I can enjoy the epic battles.
I was a little surprised about the Grey Knights / Land Rider teleporting as Grey Knights are called from the Grey Knight Teleporter and not from the Domus Astra Telepathica where the Landraiders are called from. I think it would be a nice idea to switch the Building Places of the Grey Knights and Land Raiders so that they are produced in the appropriate building. This would be for logical reasons only, none for the gameplay section which seems fine for me. :)

That's a somewhat different question.
DowXP is a great and popular mod which rebalances all of the races.
I think it also adds to each race (sorry, I haven't played it since WA time).
Our mod is balanced against vanilla DC, with a tech tree of similar complexity as DC.
Porting DC to DowXP can be done in two ways, as explained in our license :
- if DowXP is interested in adding the Daemonhunters race to their mod, they can do so by requiring the players to download our mod and use our mod as a prerequisite in the DoWXP module.
The two mods stay separated, and a player would still be able to play Inquisition : Daemonhunt alone if he wished to do so, but he could also play DowXP with a new race.
This is entirely up to the DowXP mod leaders.
- if this is something else (like taking some of our models here and there to add to DowXP mod), then the DowXP mod leaders should contact me to see what is possible to do.

Compiler is right. DoWXP rebalances all races and units as well as adding new models and effects. Since ID is balanced against Vanilla DC, if there where ever the possibility of a merging of ID to XP, these balance issues would have to be addressed. Under the current licence agreements of ID, those sorts of rebalance changes seem prohibited. I'm not officially speaking for the XP team, but it would appear that a straight merge of the two mods would be impossible without modifications to one mod or the other. If the ID team is unwilling to do that, I certainly understand (you've all done a great job and I'd hate to see any of your work wasted).

That being said, It WOULD be pretty cool if a compromise of some kind could be reached. ;)

ZOOM PROBLEM

Ok guys jsut a couple days ago xfire realeased a new update which changed the way xfire looked in DoW.

Now if you have a ski nfor your xfire then that new feature will not work, and also WILL DISABLE zoom for you.

The solution is to switch to xfire original skin.

I think it's more logical that the Grey Knights are built in the Grey Knights Teleporter.
We had to make the Landraiders deepstrike from the Domus Astra Telepathica for technical reasons.

I've just played a couple of matchs, and I have to say; I applaud you. Great all round mod, although it does take a while to get the hang of using the deamonhunters army.
On another note, I seem unable to extract the sga file using the modtools "modpackager" it seems to error just as the extractions taking place, is anyone else experiencing this (if they've tried it?)


EDIT: I think I figured out why, I've been trying to extract it with the mod tools from 1.1 (or lower)

EDIT: Ok i've downloaded the new mod tools and I still get the same error, anyone got any advice?

Hi, I'm the I:DH sounguy. As for the random menu music, selecting Tau, Necron or any other race in army painter or skirmish menu will result into playback of their own music. I didn't want to change music for all races, just for the Daemonhunters. If your current army is Daemonhunters and you don't mess with army painter or switch races in other way, the engine should pick up random Inquisition tracks and play them one after another. I have just checked the playlist files and they seem to be OK but if you still encounter a deviation from the above mentioned behavior, please tell me :)

Aha! I had noted it during testing but as it wasn't changed I assumed it was a sort of 'blessed hull' thing. And its only the assault dread that self repairs ;) Aww well lol

Well, awesome mod. Oddly enough, my favorite unit was those close combat servitor guys (I'm not entirely sure why).

Anyway, for those who want this integrated into DowXP, I recommend that you first find out whether the XP team would be willing to do the work, then encourage them to ask permission from Compiler to use his race. Nothing else is likely to get results.

EDIT: I just looked more into the XP thread and realized that the requests were already made (just buried under a few other posts), so it looks like it's already being done.

Just played four games, awesome, awesome job guys, really nice job.

I only have two balance suggestions however. This is for the Weapon Spec 2 (or whatever its called) that gets Meltas for the Storms, and the Termis. Both of which cost a LOT of power for what they can do, especially with the DH needing a lot of power to push through and get Tier 3 units. The Weapon Spec 2 I think should be lowered to 100 power, and the Termis should have their power cost reduced by 75-100 power.

The termis is just because in that very power heavy stage of Tier 4 for the DH, they can barely afford some units (Your paying 350-375 for your Vehicle AT support, and your going to need a lot), so they should be reduced so that they still cost a lot, but not so much that it breaks the bank.

The Weapon Spec 2 is that your spending a lot of power to upgrade Storms already, and once again, you need a ton of power for the tier 3 push anyway.

Just my 0.02$. I really love your mod, big thanks to the team for putting so much effort into it. Its great watching Force Commanders get sync killed by Grey Knights, and I like the new graphic you did for the Deathwatch's special ability as well.
