Game crashes to desktop when loading saved game

When I load my campaign save game of my necrons assault on the imperial guard stronghold, the game crashes to the desktop and error report box. Any ideas why it has suddenly done this?

It is hard to say - its not unheard of for saved games to become corrupted either, whether due to a patch changing the game version, or a mod altering the game itself. Sometimes it could even be a Hard Drive fault too.

In this instance, it superficially looks like your saved game is corrupted - what version was your game saved in, any mods installed either then or now - likewise any cheats or other files used?

I'm running version 1.2 of Dark Crusade, and when i saved the game i also had v 1.6 of the Annihilation mod installed. However, since I wasnt running the mod when i made my save, I'm not sure how it could have somehow corrupted my campaign save game file :/

I have since removed the mod and reinstalled dark crusade but the problem still persists :(
