I purchased DoW & DoW:Winter Assualt separatly a while back. Well I took the 2 WA cds and put then into my DoW case (so I don't loose the cds lol) and wouldn't ya know, I lost my CD key for WA. I still got the one for DoW and play it regularly, but I miss my WA extras.... :( Anything to do about this, anyway to get another? Thanks.
If you still have the game installed you can extract the CD key from the registry, if not then all you can do is contact THQ - but I dont know how helpful they will be.

Nope, built a new PC and was going to install it over. Already formatted the older one, lol. Crap.

Ya dood this cd key crap sucks. You spend good money.... 50 bucks on a decent game and they can't help you if you lose it(like on a move or something). And looking on the registry... doesn't that kinda take a while? It's a joke the only reason they have those keys is because they want to make a few more bucks from the "missing" cd key. So ya I too am wondering how you get your missing cd keys found?
Getting the key from the registry takes less than 30 seconds.
CD keys are annoying but theyre pretty standard - I cant remember the last new PC game I bought that didnt have one. They exist as an anti piracy measure, not to make more money from people losing them. Just keep the key in the box with the disks - at least then if you lose it then youve lost the disks as well.

If anything, with most games, you can order a manual from THQ ( which has the key, no? ). I'm also wondering if every game has a different key, or its all the same ( in which case a freind/forum goer can give you the key )

Warboss Antoni - Each specific game version will accept a wide range of legitimate keys, mainly from that region (for example, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia etc). As such, you cannot mix and match between different regions. If you mislay your CDKey, then you are sacrificing your ability to reinstall the game later on.
The registry is good for reclaiming your CDKey as long as you didn't format the computer or swap to another Hard drive, however if you did lose both the manual and the registry key, then you will need to contact THQ regarding the issue.
Sometimes having the game box can help THQ to track down your CDKey - or at least disable your old CDKey and send you out a new one (to prevent piracy of your old key), the judgement and decision however, is theirs to make and not ours.
