CD key not recognized DC

For the past few days ive gotten the "cd key not recognized" when i try to play online. I reinstalled DoW and the Winter assault exp. But ive lost the Dark Crusade disc.

I tried going into the registry and change the number but its still not working. The name is Default thought. So i dont know if that has anything to do with it.

Any help?

Ok just tried again the actual message says

Just to confirm - did you used to be able to play online without problems?

Does the key in the registry exist and match the key that came with your game?

Go to your registry (Start > Run > regedit) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE >THQ > Dawn of War. If you don't see a cdkey registry, right click on the right side where the regisrties are and click new string value. Name it CDKEY. Double click that registry now and enter your cd-key with the dashes. Hope this helps.

Yeah i used to be able to play all the time, took a few month break from online play and now it work for some reason.

Also, i already went into the Registry and tried reentering/adding a new one. Still no good

Alright, well i screwed around for a while today and now the game will log me one. Now however the patch says that the game isnt installed. ?!?!?!

I looked around the forum and the only real advice i found was a fresh install. Sadly not a option for me as i still can not find the disk.

Anything else i can do?

That error is normally caused by your registry being messed up - go back to the DC registry folder and tell me what keys are in there.

inside the file are the following items

Add a new "String value", call it "InstallLocation" and put in it the location where the game is installed ("C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade" is default).
