Ok, after a lengthy time out of 40k I think it's time for a new army. :D
As I am pretty much a total tank fanatic, I was thinking of either Ork Speed Freeks, or a Imperial Guard Tank Company. All things considered (like the new Apocolypse expansion and the 'back of book' army lists that will be needed to create these armies.) I was wondering what sort of opinions everyone else had.

Almost any army could be mechanized, though the two you mentioned would probably fit the "coolest" vehicle role.
If you like tanks the imperial guard would be the best bet. The Hell Hound, Chimera, Lemon Russ, and Basilisk are very traditional in their looks and roles.
The Ork Speed Freeks are very fun to play, and take on a more "Mad Max" type atmosphere. An army will consist of a very rickety vehicles and bikes designed to bring the boys to the fight fast, and play in a very aggressive way.
Keep in mind that the orks will get a new codex, and very cool new vehicles, in January.

Excellent, new Ork codex!
Thanks for the info.....I'll probably keep my decision waiting until I take a look the new codex and see the new models. :D
Maybe even both armies in the very long term. :)
Anybody else go any thoughts on these two armies?

Well my friend has an ork army thats very daunting. He has kinda like half fast attack vehicles and then footsloggers.Very good combo keeps me occupied until his boyz get there.Id say go for the orks a lot more exciting, plus you can just loot Leman Russ if you want.
