Disclaimer: I know Steam is out of the hands of Relic and THQ. This post is for fellow players, and I've duplicated it on the Steam board for DoW.
Me and 2 friends recently installed the non-Steam version of Dawn of War (the whole series). As you know (or maybe you don't), you can add non-Steam games to your Steam list and benefit from the community overlay. Currently, the in-game overlay isn't working for any of us with DoW. A couple details:
- 1 friend says it was working as of October 25th. Note: Steam has patched TWICE since this time.
- Other non-Steam games have and still do work with the overlay. I've tried Manhunt, myself.
Solutions I've tried:
- Killing everything in the Steam folder except Steam.exe and steamapps folder
- Reinstalling Nvidia drivers after fully uninstalling (163.76 w/ an 8800GTS 640MB)
- Repairing DoW using the setup.exe
- Reinstalling DoW
I'd like to know if anyone else is having a similar experience, be it with non-Steam or Steam versions.
