View Full Version : Direct Host/Join ok with 1 player, but not with 2

Hello,

If I host a new game on DoW and only 1 extra player join then we can play with no problems at all.
However, today we tried playing with 2 people joining and the second person joining the game could not enter. DoW gave the error message 'Connection refused by host'.
We tried swapping around in order of joining and both players can join my hosted game, but not if there's already another player joined. So me and another player is no problem, but if 1 more wants to join he cannot, and the game refuses his connection.

Anyone have any idea on how to solve this?

Last time this happened to me, it was because I had ZoneAlarm's firewall turned up too high. DoW was fully cleared, but ZoneAlarm was being too generically paranoid. Try turning down the main setting on everyone's firewall or disabling it outright for the game (obviously not something to do long term).

I have that problem too. 2 PC's under the same IP. Hosting games is not a problem for any of us. Problems start when one is hosting game, the other connects to the first-one's game. We're both in the same game, but people that are trying to connect can't join our game - some of them can, but most of cannot. Here's part of warnings.log file:

it's about this part i think:
" peer (Lord_Kanar) didn't connect to all peers (missing peer (eowar)"
but there is not much we could do about it.
Unless if there is a way to change ports used by DoW from 6112. Maybe some patch or that new Soulstorm could bring changes. This is possible because Warcraft3:Frozen Throne have that feature in game options. If any of Relic staff ever read this, please consider this request - solving 2PC's / one IP problem.

SQNL It might help if post your dxdiag.txt and warnings.log.
