Moving to general discussion

The SL line hasn't been in full swing for a couple years now. The line launched in 1999/2000 and is well past it's shelf life, (for metals anyway). You can still buy some if them by doing a search for 'Steel AND Legion', (or the link (http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?WCI=Menu&WCE=Search&Query=Steel%20AND%20Legion&DisplayImages=False&MaxNum=25&StartAt=37&System=) on the US site for this result). Or the SL section (http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=List_Models&code=301313&orignav=301304&GameNav=10) of the store, which is pretty sad really.

Originally, they only had 1 troop box, 3 HW team blisters, 2 each officer/sgt blisters, 1 SW blister and a Sentinel. Fairly meager, actually. I must apologize if you cannot find any as I fear I have purchased them all, (at least, that the opinion of my local groups).

There's also the Armageddon-pattern Basilisk (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/basenc.htm), which is available to purchase from Forge World. While not specifically tied to the Steel Legion family of models (the Tallarn armies used it in the Taros Campaign for instance, and the showcase model built by Games Workshop's resident treadhead, Warwick Kinrade, has a Tallarn theme), it is nonetheless born on their soil, and was indeed used as a model for the "Dawn of Steel" Dawn of War mod.

I've looked around and have not found them in the online store. Several things you can do:
1) ebay
2) some independant retailers may still have some boxes (The ones around where I live still have them on the shelves.)
3) you may be able to order them from gw mail order, you'll have to call or fire off an e-mail and ask them. (They'll be more expensive however.)
4) just wait, a lot of gw lines that had been discontinued are back in stock, probably will happen with the steel legion eventually. (For example, around 2001 I really wanted attilan rough riders, they were 'discontinued' and I had to settle for tallarns. Now when I go to gw attempting to add more tallarn rough riders, they're now discontinued and the attilans are back in stock.)

EDIT: found in Canadian online store

EDIT: found in US online store
link doesn't work, just search for steel AND legion
EDIT: found in UK online store
link doesn't work, just search for steel AND legion

I personally believe that the Steel Legion troops are the second coolest models, next to Tallarn.

I wish they'd just release a plastic version of all of their "old" IG models. That would be cool on so many levels.

I have boxes of them for sale on ebay, I warn you though, they're not cheap. I'm partial to the older metal models, Tallarn, Valhallan and Steel Legion mainly. I just think Mordian is kinda gay looking, all prissy and whatnot.

Lol mordians march into combat....like the redcoats in 1776...they dont really understand the concept of cover....at all...

Still...i love my cadians but i need some variety

nope, head to the U.K GamesWorkshop website, and on the search function, look for "legion", this will offer you every single steel legion model produced, each single Steel Legion trooper costs 2.50 for the single metal model. A squad of 10 will cost £20.50 (about $50 US exc UK VAT + delivery).

They are discountinued. Just GW seems to have tons of sentinels and heavy weapons troops left over. The reason that there are no troops and officers are because they were so popular that they all sold out when they were discountinued.

I've had a word with the manager at my local GW and the Steel Legion (metal infantry models) are still being produced for the classic and collectors section, they just haven't updated the site yet.

They're awesome, the only thing that is cooler than the Steel Legion mini's are the actual Death Korps mini's ... THOSE are expensive.

aye true that, but for the quality of the models you recieve, they are worth it.
