Alright having lurked on these forums for about two weeks (Or one? I forget now) trying to solve my problem without bothering people it is apparent I cannot do so alone.
Here's the situation. I can install Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade however if I go to install Dawn of War/Winter Assault I get a Fatal Error message which then closes.
Now I am aware that it's most likely a problem due to having both Vista and an NVidia card together but so far the solutions to this site have not worked for me. Which is why I thought I have no choice but to offer my specifics and maybe someone can help.
Alright now when I said the other solutions don't work here's what happened when I tried those.
For patches, they simply didn't work themselves. Maybe I was doing somethign wrong or I downloaded the wrong patches? I'm not sure but they simply didn't work.
Now there is another very big concern. A lot of the fixes seem to concern the file SPDX_97 (Something like that, I forget the exact name). This is where things get really weird and complicated.
*sigh* Have a feeling no one can help me.
When searching for the folder the first time it brought up two files with the same name. However one was in the trash bin for whatever reason (I had nothing to do with it) and the other was withing the THQ files for the game.
Checking both I realized the folder I had to alter (One of the fixes required me to change some 1's to 0's) was the one in the trashbin and the other ... wasn't the right one.
So... those are my problems in general if you need more specifics I'll try to clarify or just uninstall/reinstall all over again to get more if it'll help.
If anyone could help me with this I'd be ever so thankful.
Oh and one last thing. I also cannot play online, I'm pretty sure it has to do with my router so if anyone can help me with that as well I'd also be very grateful.
