CRC Error

I'm having a problem reinstalling DC after a system crash: whenever I got to install it certain .sga files create a CRC error that reads like this, "CRC error: the file D:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade\Engine\Engine.sga doesnt match the file in the setups .cab file. the medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor." This happens with certain race .avi files, the sound files, and more. I understand CRC errors are caused by a bad disc but I'm confused because I have Platinum Edition where all three games are on one disc and DoW/WA installed with no errors but DC has repeated CRC errors as stated above. I also thoroughly cleaned the disc and there are no scratches on it.

Furthermore this happens when I try to install the Soulstorm demo, which has no disc. Help.

I would suggest trying to copy the contents of the disk to your hard drive and installing from there but if this problem happens with soulstorm im not sure- its worth a try though.

If its happening while installing a downloaded demo then its possible your harddrive is developing issues. Back up anything important immediately (just in case) and then try installing something else...download any random demo you feel like and see what happens.

I installed the Diablo 2 demo with no issue. It's weird because my system crashed last week and I reinstalled everything - the only program that gave me issues was DC and then SS.

Back that sucker up while you still can and Do a defrag on your machine after a scandisk.

I guess I just don't understand why it would just be DC/SS.

No other games have given me this issue.
