Ok, so I'm running a fresh install of Soulstorm on my 32 bit vista laptop, she has....
1024 Ram,
128 Radeon video card,
dual core 2.0 processor
Now, the problem im experiencing, is that when I try to play campaign, every time the meta map loads... an excruciatingly long period passes before eventually, the load is successful. This time period is between 5 and 12 minutes. Naturally this interferes with my campaign play time.
On the THQ official support thread, they mention an issue where if virtual ram is disabled, then a similar problem may occur. Vista isn't directly supported, and I'm aware that it tends to... use a bit more RAM than a 'normal' OS so I increased my virtual ram page file to a manually set 2 gigs, and tried again.. no success, then 3 gigs, still no success. I have a roomate also running vista, albeit 64 bit, with something along the lines of a super computer, and hes not experiencing any issues at all. So I'm just asking if anyone else had encountered this issue or a solution to the problem.
EDIT:: UPDATE
After upping the virtual ram to 3 gigs, ive at least managed to make it a rather short process to alt tab from the load screen. During the loading process soulstorm.exe is using about 550 mb of ram, which, isn't as high as I expected, and barely 1% of my processor power. So I'm out of guesses at solutions to the problem either than the cynical, use XP.
