Soulstorm start failure : application configuration is incorrect

cannot start this game at all message is:
this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem...

re-installing does not help at all out of all 8 times, all games are activated and work fine except this one.

technical support on d2d told me to get lost as its not their problem, thq seems uninterested..

anyone have any experience of this matter?

c++ updates and graphic drivers have been updated.

What operating system / computer are you using, and have you tried installing as an administrator?

xp proffesional, I didnt see any option to install as an admin... any tip on how to do this?

Any word on what Tech Support said you should do to fix this? I've got the same issue and would really like to know.

I had the same problem with my D2D package. Reinstalling the C++ environment seemed to have fixed it.

I reformatted my PC the other day, and had reinstalled DoW from D2D. Same problem, and was just about to send in a ticket but seems like D2D would give me a big middle finger. I'll try a C++ reinstall and tell you guys how it works out.(On a different note, D2D is never ever getting my money again)

Edit - Yup it was a C++ failure.(Or some sort of failure that Microsoft's Basic package thingie fixed)
