I and several people I know recently bought Dawn of War-Soulstorm, and I'm having trouble authenticating (my completely authentic and never-loaned to anyone) CD key to play online. My DoW original and WA work fine online, but Dark Crusade and Soulstorm don't, throwing up the same error message ("CD authentication failed"). Soulstorm uses the DC key, so this leads me to believe my (also completely original and authentic, never-loaned-out) DC key has been stolen/hacked/whatever (is this common?). Anyone got any fixes for this? The sticky on the top pointed to a 'regedit' file that exists, and holds the DoW and WA CD Keys but I can't find the DC or Soulstorm ones to check them (the directions on the sticky look like they were written for WinXP, I'm on Vista).
If it is the Dark Crusade CD-key (and most likely it is) then is there a way to disable it so that I can play online without the DC races? I'm not going to go out and buy another DC, on the principle that I'm not paying them more because their product was defunct, and I'm not 100% sure that it even is the DC CD-key. I've already tried un-reinstalling SS but it took the 'bad' CD-key automatically somehow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is wit's end sort-of stuff going on here.
Cheers,
Chris
