New to the game

Hi there, i've just bought the complete collection of this game as i'd heard good things.

Just gone through the tutorial and one thing i've noticed that seems really restricted is the amount you can zoom out, i can hardly see any of my stuff. Im running in 1600x1200 so i don't think that's a problem.

Also, how can i tell which patch i have installed?

Or a gold/plat copy?

Is this a digital copy or a hard copy?

Given you said 'complete collection', which game have you installed and tried to play?

Thanks for the reply, the complete collection is dawn of war plus all the adons. I've installed dawn of war and winter assault. Im trying to get online playing dawn of war. I already have an account, but it just sits there trying to connect

daz, try using a different email or a different nick while creating a profile.

You are most likely not patched to the correct version. It is also possible that there was a messup while installing dow+wa, and you did not patch dow far enough before installing WA (speculation)...

Try using http://88.198.39.149/~dowpatch/ and see after patching if you can go from there.

In the mean time this will be moved to technical assistance once you see this post.

Have you let DoW through your Firewall? It won't connect unless you do.

With regard to the Camera zoom - there is a mod you can add that allows you to zoom out further

Search for Camera Zoom here on the forum to find the mod and follow the instructions

Also to note ; Camera zoom mod is fully compatible for online play. You need not worry if someone else has it or not.

nice one, thanks for the mod, i'd played Supreme Commander before this game which i think didn't help me, you can zoom out a crazy distance with that game.

I have let it through my firewall (zone alarm) it has the 4 green ticks, i guess the fact it's talking about a password being wrong means it's getting to the server.

The complete collection installs both games at the same time, no chance to patch before installing Winter Assault.

On the front screen with the options i noticed a little bit of text at the top, think it had 1.51 in it somewhere which im guessing is the patch version, can someone confirm this is where i look for this?

I'll try a different login tonight.

I have The Complete Collection. DoW and WA come as Gold edition, so it's all on 1 DVD. Both require no patching.

DC comes in as 1.1, so you need to get to 1.11 and then 1.2.

Daz, 'both games at the same time'? Are you sure you have the complete collection? It sounds like you just have the Gold Edition there bud, Dawn of War and Winter Assault in the same box.

The complete collection should have four games included in it.
