Installing DoW SS: error The version of this file..

I get an error message when I try to run the setup.exe file after expanding the zip I downloaded from direct2drive. It says that the file is not compatible with the version of Windows I'm running.

Is there another setup file that I need? Where do I look to get that?

Hmm, this is strange, we have somebody in the CoH Tech Assistance who is getting almost exactly the same thing happening with CoH from direct2drive. It might be a problem with the files that are being downloaded. You could try this suggestion (http://support.direct2drive.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=2444) from the direct2drive tech support FAQs, if that doesn't work I'd suggest lodging a support ticket with D2D Support (http://support.direct2drive.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=3091).

Ya, I openned a ticket with THQ support. It seems pretty cut-and-dry; I bought the game, there were no overt warnings about 64 bit OS, and I've seen posts here from people who are running DoW SS on 64 bit, so I know its possible.

Just to clarify, I suggested lodging a support ticket with Direct2drive support, not THQ support (although it won't do any harm lodging one with THQ as well.
