Starcraft blatantly ripped off the well established 40k universe in many areas. Blizzard are to blame, not 40k. The 40k universe is extremely detailed and complex (and brilliant). There is an excellent explanation for orks.

40k was inspired by many things, including LOTR. 40k has inspired, to some extent, all the warcraft games, Starcraft, and a huge amount of6 other sci fi and fantasy.

Guarrand, 40k is both spacy AND intensely medievil. Its set in 40k because this allows immense freedom, and for humanity to have had several rises and falls technologically.

40 has daemons, space marines, Gods, aliens, Warp travel, sauls and psychics. All are brilliantly intertwined.

You could say that Blizzard ripped off the Zerg from Warhammer in some ways, from Tyranids. Still, it doesn't really bother me. People do this sort of thing all the time, and they probably didn't even use 'Nids as a base for Zerg (though I must admit that a Hormagaunt looks a lot like a Zergling...).

First thing I thought when I saw Starcraft (apart from Hey, they've retextured warcraft 2) was that it was a 40K ripoff. Space Marines, Tyranids & Eldar... Not that it matters, starcraft would have been crap even if it'd been a WH40K game.

Yes, Red Vehicles indeed do go faster. And not just for orks. Look at Blood Angel Rhinos and compare them to other Rhinos.

umm its 40k becasue its set in the 41st millenium.. thats 40,000 years in the future, not just 4000 as 4k would suggest
