Hello there. I'm working on importing some sounds from HW1 and HWC to HW2. I'm using this tutorial (http://hw2wiki.net/wiki.hw2.info/TutorialImportSound.html) and I managed to have sounds working ingame, but they won't last more than about 2 seconds. They start playing and then just stop before the end of the sound. Do anybody know why and how I can fix it ?

Yeah the problem is the way the game was designed to handle sound.
Unlike most games where you can import sounds of any lengths,hw2 will play the sound [at least when it comes to FX] for the duration of the effect.
It happens to me also as I have tried creating a blank effect and then increasing its length to last 60 seconds but the sound still either doesn't play, the volume is to low or plays the sound for about 2 seconds.
Why they made it like this is beyond me :screwy:

That's also what I thought at first, but I tried to use vanilla sounds the same way, with the same name and so on, and those work perfectly. So it must come from the way I encoded it, but I really don't know why.

If you trying importing a music track into the game to use at menu start up,the track will play one time but when it starts to play the second time the track will cut off maybe half way into the song.
This is because the music doesn't have a proper loop point set by the game itself.
There was a Program called AIF MANIPULATOR [ or something like that ] that fixes this problem.
The bad part is that the link is dead and I tried to reach the person who made it but never got any response.

Bad news. It would be fucking bad if no one in the modding community is even able to import a sound correctly :(

Thanks a lot :). Don't have time to test now, but it looks like it is exactly what I needed.
