View Full Version : Anyone having a problem with the patch and mods?

bah, I patched and can't get custom races to work anymore with overridebigfile. The selection for new races shows up in the interface. However, when you load the game it arbitrarily assigns either vagyr or hig. I also tried to big the file and load with -mod option, no luck there either. Some stuff seems to work like the UI options, UI backgrounds and maps. So it is loading the data, but it isn't getting the custom race stuff.
ditto for slamoids ST:CTB mod.
uninstalling and going back to 1.0 until this gets sorted out.

I think thats because of the race #. You need to assign yours one up because instead of 2 there is now 3 races.

err what be this other race you speak of? I currently am using slot 5 and 6 like slamoid was

You have to re-extract all the data from the NEW big file after running the patch... the old data left lying about will conflict with the new EXE (as far as I know anyway).

ie: If we want to mod properly again we either have to:
1. Wait for yet another rdn release (yahhhh 1 - 2 months most likely)
2. Do it ourselves (won't get done fast thou)
but hey maybe relic can at least explain why there is 1 whole ui section for playback not used....
I thought they said mods wouldnt be affected because they didnt do any real big changes to hard code and such. Plus if your overriding the bigfile why would it have conflicts that doesnt make sense.

looks like more was changed than was noted in the changelog.
my Strikers game type is broken as well. Argh.
